Parking Permits
Would Rsd/crps patients qualify for a handicap parking permit? My mobility is very limited and i was thinking of asking my doctor for a medical note.
|
I have one, but I got it prior to my CRPS diagnosis, when I "only" had peripheral neuropathy. I would guess that it depends on the individual and your degree of (im)mobility. For me, I'm in a wheelchair so I think that pretty much seals the deal. :D
Good luck! |
I was able to get one,but you need to have your Dr. sign the papers at least in Kentucky

Go to your DMV on the internet, and print out the form.
Have your doctor sign it, then fill out the rest, (signature) and send it back, to DMV. With RSD, you'll fall under neurological disorders, probably. I have a permanent plate for my vehicle, a mirror hanger for my other vehicles, (or any I might ride in) and a wallet card, for when you're standing in any line, gets you to the front, and other little perks. I'm in PA and it's quite easy. Pete asb |
I have RSD and my ortho doc signed my form for my handicap tag due to limited mobility. I use a cane or wheelchair on a bad day. He signed the form and the rest was easy. I just took it to the license plate office and they gave me a handicapped tag. It only costed 5 dollars. It was worth it. Good Luck!!

I found the forms and printed them out...I was told to go to my town village for a park permit. The license plate is in my husband's name would it have to be in my name to get the plates changed? I will see my dr tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your help:)

You can start out with a handicap tag that hangs from the front view mirror! You can also take it with you when you ride in someone else's car..Mine is good for two years! It has been so helpful!
Good luck, Hope4thebest |
