Cant afford Provigil

Sorry havent been around lately.

Hope everyone is well and in good spirits. :D

Insurance has changed and I wont be able to afford Provigil anymore. Is there an assistance out there?

And or is there something else I can use?

Anyone ever try the energy drinks? No doze?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Many brand name medication companies have plans for those that can't afford the meds.
Look up the manufacturer of it and contact them, you might see more info on their website also.

If it isn't on your insurance's formulary sometimes they let an MD make an official appeal and they allow it. Good luck

I take Ritalin now. The Provigil stopped working for me, so we tried Ritalin and it works pretty well most of the time. It is old and cheap and generic, too.

The same company is making a little different formulation called Nuvigil. I noticed that through my insurance it is less expensive than Provigil.

I made the switch when my insurance company decided I didn't need to take Provigil.

Same Company, slightly different formulation, difference in price is to get people to switch to the new one, nice long patent life.

They have a generic available now. The patent ended so they came up with Nuvigil so they could still get their money. The active ingredients are still the same in the generic of provigil. They had coupons from doc's when they transitioned patients from provigil to nuvigil to cover co-pays or make the co-pay the same. I don't recall because it didn't work for me. Most docs were urged by the drug co. to move patients from provigil to nuvigil.

What is the shelf-life of Provigil? I have alot of it but it's past it's expiration date.
