Hello all

I'm new to this site. I have had MS for about 6 years and took my first Ampyra dose tonight to see if it will help my walking. I've only taken one of the two per day and read that others have done the same. I was wondering how long people took one pill vs. both. I see my neuro in a couple weeks and he only said, "Take one instead of two at first and then come see me." Thank you for your thoughts. :)

Hello! and welcome. Nice to have you here. I have not taken that medication, but wanted to come out and wish you well.

Welcome to NeuroTalk dOc. I'm glad you found us.:)

I think there are some here on Ampyra, but I haven't heard about diff doses and how it works. I hope someone will come along and help you.

Welcome to NT!

I haven't taken that so I have no suggestions for you. I know there are others on here who do take it so hopefully they will come along and answer your questions.

In the meantime, hang around and let us know how you are doing.

Here is a link to a thread on here about Ampyra. Some of it was from a year ago but it might have some of the information you are looking for.

Thank you all for the welcome. This new med makes my spine feel a lot of pain, makes my head pound and my fingers tingle. My body is likely just adjusting to it but so far it's not meeting my expectations. We'll see how it goes.

Hi and welcome to NT! :welcome_sign: I'm sorry this new med is giving you side effects. That seems to be the case with many of the drugs MS patients take. Hopefully they will subside soon and this med will help you. Keep us posted on how it's working for you.

Im sorry this med is causing you any trouble. do they think the side effects will get better with time? What does your MD say?

I take it as "all medications have side effects." I was up until 4:30am this morning and shook all over. I have a MRI today and am trying to make it happen. Thank you Dejibo. :)
