what would you do?
altho i think i already know the answer.
i have an oncologist here (to follow breast Ca). i've been here in FL a bit over 1 yr. i moved from Denver. so, july was to be my 3rd appt. i was referred by my pcp. i received a letter (not even a phone call) stating my dr couldn't be in on the day of my appt. they moved it to Aug. and, this is the 2nd time it's happened. so, my 6 month appts are turning into 7 month appts. i don't like it. i called the office and the scheduler said if i had active Ca i would have been seen with another dr in the practice. i'm trying to get thru to my pcp's office to ask for another referral. i have my annual mammo next wk, plus an US. IF by any chance it's Ca again or suspicious i will immediately find another dr. if it's ok i'll ask around. the worst thing about this move is that i don't know and don't have a feel for the drs and hosp's. when i was in denver i was working. i had the inside scoop. i knew the ropes. here i feel helpless. like i've lost control. i hate that. so, i'm going to take my control back. thanks for listening. |
Good for you, Judy. Good luck and good wishes. I'll pray it isn't another cancer..

no, barb, it's st. augustine. i good go to shands or jacksonville but if i'm clear i don't want to travel that far.
i did in fact drop this dr and have an appt with the other (in the same office - let's hope the cancellation policy isn't the same for all of them) around the 15th of june. so soon. better than august. my mammo and US is monday. you'll be the 2nd to know if it's not good. but, i think i'll be fine. thanks so much. |
thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way for tomorrow!
