Calcium, Magnesium, Vit. D
The Calcium supplement I am taking contains magnesium oxide, which I am learning , is not the good one. What is the proper amount of magnesium and Vit. D in a Calcium supplement? Most of the ones I find contain either mag.
oxide or citrate. Any help & info. will be appreciated. Thanks. |
Mrs. D has an extensive thread on Mag. You may want to take a look at it.

Thanks, Marlene.
It is very difficult to find a cal/mag that does not have Oxide in it. When you buy mixed supplements you give up being able to get what you in particular needs. Most of the D in a mixed product is 400IU, for example which is too low too. I am now using a lotion for my mag. It is so much easier and not expensive at all. It is called CVS Epsom lotion. |

Thanks for the input - I am wondering how to know how much mag. one is getting from the lotion |
I find it works for me. Helps me sleep too...and reduces my blood pressure even! You can feel it...
You can do both, say 1/2 dose oral, and lotion too. I put a dime sized patch on each arm along the bottoms of arms where the skin is thinnest. My magnesium thread has other ideas too. Ionic fizz, and other products you can control your dose better with. Magnesium thread is on the Vitamin forum, usually on page 1 and sometimes it falls to page 2. |
