Pcs help please
I need help regarding my pcs.
I had a concussion 9weels ago. I was assaulted by some guy with a king hit. I had LOC 90sec, amnesia, nausea, confusion etc. And then after a week the scary pcs sympots, it took me 9weeks just to feel bit better. But yesterday when I was driving back from my Docter on a sharp turn I pulled my car brakes quick enough and I felt nausea and sice then I'm getting headeches and sharp pain in head. Do you guys think its a new comcussion or I just aggregate my pcs. I'm really scared ATM. |
You probably aggravated your existing concussion or aggravated an undiagnosed neck injury that make you PCS worse. Either way, you feel lousy and need quiet rest without any further risk of sudden movements.
This is not uncommon for someone new to PCS who does not understand the delicate nature of a healing brain. Be easy on your brain. My best to you. |
help and pcs
I am not an expert. My accident was five months ago. I am getting better but still have PCS. My doctor advised me not to drive until further notice. I would suggest talking to your doctor about driving and get a friend to drive you around. Other people on this site have said they forget what to do at a stop sign, or have difficulty remembering if someone is approaching on the left while they check for traffic on the right. I would also be concerned about your reaction time.
IDid you hit your head again? If not, then you are probably still recovering from the first one. In reading your post, it seems like you are having difficulty communicating clearly. The same thing happened to me. I texted my friend to tell her how I was doing. My texts did not make sense, words were spelled wrong, and she could tell I was in rough shape. It does get better but it is scary. Rest and take one day at a time. Your brain needs rest in order to heal. It takes a long time to get better-longer than you might think. |

I was doing 25miles when all of sudden I pull my brakes down And I went slightly forward and back. I'm a bodybuilder and I haven't been able to continue my weight training session since my injury. |
It could just be your pcs aggrivated but you can receive a concussion from you head going back and forth as well. I was told by my nuero about 10 months ago that I'm no longer allowed to play competitve sports (obvious cuz of the chance of an impact) But he also told me that I should not be running or jogging because the shaking and bouncing while running can cause me to have another concussion.
If you are still having symptoms or they have gotten worse or new ones have arrived I would reccomend you go back to your doctor. Believe me its better to be safe then sorry. |

Depth perception, movement, numbers, words -- because of the concussion, all of it might be a bit off. If you're concerned that you have a second concussion, you should see your doctor ASAP. |
It's been 2days since that sudden brakes thing.
Headeches are on a low scale. Should I still go and see a Docter or just rest more. |
Unless the pain is unbearable, I think rest is likely your best bet... there's not much the doctor can do for you in reality except prescribe more headache meds.... I am now 15 weeks out since my concussion, and I am just now starting to see regular improvements, with fewer setbacks. My physiatrist said most people with extended symptoms won't start getting better till 3-6 months, and full recovery usually happens at a year or later.

If things don't seem to be getting worse you should rest. However, I was last injured in August I saw a Doc then. I then decided to "ignore" how I felt and the new and worsening symptoms. For 9 months I ignored them. Now 10 months since my injury and 10 months of getting worse and worse I am now going bak to my doc. Trust me you do not want to ignore how you feel and just wait for things to improve on their own. That's what I did and now I'm worse then ever. Hope you feel better!

Headeches are on low scale now but my neck is really still after the car brakes.
is there anything to worry about or it will get better slowly. Some1 told me if you have a concussion again you could die and neck stiffness could be cause of swelling in the brain. I'm really freaking out now. |
