At Peace

For those who remember, I was diagnosed with MS over 20 years ago. I went to an MS specialist two years ago who said he wasn't sure that I have MS. My regular neuro here went right along with him.

Today I saw another neurologist who re-diagnosed me as having MS, and who is starting me back on Tysabri next week. Dr. Burch is a wonderful person as well as a wonderful doctor. He is nice, he listens, and he cares.

I am at peace now. :Head-Spin:

These back and forth stories are not so rare as one might think. I did a few swings on that apparatus myself. Back and forth, doctor to doctor.
So very glad you feel peace!

Good for you! Being at peace helps in so many ways you don't even realize.

Thanks Mariel!

I had heard of a few people having their MS diagnoses taken away from them, but I figured it was rare.

When it happened to me, it felt like the world and everything I believed in came crashing down. It was awful! I talked it over with my PCP. He was the only one who said, "until someone can prove to me that you don't have MS, I believe that you do." That was like being thrown a lifeline.

It got better after awhile. I knew in my mind what I had. I still had my tremors, numbness and tingling, trouble swallowing and holding my urine, and my arm and leg weakness. While I was on TY for two years, my tremors and weakness improved. Didn't go away, but there was noticeable improvement.
