Anyone experience this?

Hello, I had major jaw surgery when I was 18 (I'm 51 now)and have had some residual jaw numbness ever since. I've lived with it but the last couple weeks I seem to be more aware of it and it's driving me crazy! I seem to be fixated on it more than ever before and it's really affecting everything I do. I have been going through a lot of stress lately so that can be part of the problem. Any ideas to get me out of this ?

Thanks!

Yes! I would recommend craniosacral therapy for this issue.. i've had trouble with my jaw also after car accident injuries and I find I need to get my jaw released every now and then this way. I wish you good luck with it!

Have you been checked out by a doctor to see if something is indeed amiss or if it's perhaps just age/time catching up? :Dunno:

Other than that, there are all kinds of stress reduction/coping techniques, and we chronic painees often use distraction as a coping tool—keeping your mind focused elsewhere helps keep us from dwelling on discomfort/pain.
