2 new supplements have improved my life in 2 weeks

Hi everyone!

Well, I have had an amazing 2 weeks, my burning is down by 80% and life has been amazing for 2 weeks now. I began to consider that my problems were inflammation. Since thyroid medication got rid of all my symptoms EXCEPT burning I decided maybe inflammation was a problem. 2 weeks ago I added two supplements for inflammation, since I added them both at the same time I can not say for sure which one is the miracle for me or if it is both.

Zyflamend by New Chapter
Carlson finest Fish oil lemon flavor

Honest fact is I noticed a difference within 24 hours of consuming both of these, so much so I was stunned. I am now praying this is a miracle that lasts forever.

Just thought I would share.

That is great. I was having mega pain in all my arthritis locations, over a week ago, and by coincidence we bought some preservative free dried cherries at Costco. Within 3 days, all my pain lessened to barely felt...I am still having about twenty a day or so (they are really delicious and I did a small binge the first day I have to admit).

Even my sore big toes, have stopped. My right toe was squashed by a big boulder years ago (two hairline breaks) and always zings me when I bend it. But it stopped too!

These are Dried Montmorency Cherries (tart). Search Montmorency for that post I just made...these are sold on Amazon, Sam's club, and at Costco...I have the Kirkland brand.

They have some sugar but that doesn't seem to be bothering me much. The pain relief is amazing..I am so surprised, since I tried cherry juice and extract in the past with no effect. I guess the type of cherry used is important.

This article says that tart cherries have the most anti-inflammation compounds of any food:

These are as tart as a Jolly Rancher. They make your saliva flow.
My doctor told me to use one Jolly Rancher twice a day to keep my mouth moist so I don't develop stones in the salivary glands...
which is pretty common in older patients. These cherries do the same job. I just love cherries anyway! This has been a wonderful discovery for me.

I will have to check that our MrsD! Glad you found something to help. Isn't it great when we find something to relieve pain/symptoms!!

I think the zyflamend is what is helping me since I don't believe fish oil can work that fast, but I do believe it is a good fish oil. The very first night I took a zyflamend pill my mom and I were sitting by the ocean (visiting florida) and usually I can't stay long as its too warm, well we sat there and hour and my mom was like...why aren't your feet hurting? I brushed it off as fluke since you never no with PN but it has gotten better every single day. I am truly in heaven...now if I can just STAY HERE.

That's good news. :)

Fish oil will indeed take a while before it really kicks in, but after a while it will absolutely help combating inflammation on its own.

hi stacy
I think Fish Oil is awful to take, but I know I am supposed to, also due to cardiac. I am glad to hear that there is a flavored one, I will look for it.

We take this every single morning for breakfast: Oatmeal, and we sprinkle it with Flax- Seed ( that is good antioxidant) and fresk blueberries. It is realy good for you

I did NOT think I would be able to swallow this fish oil either, I dreaded it, but believe it or not it is almost NOTHING like fish oil taste, the lemon is all I taste. Some people hate the oil aspect feeling but this does not bother me at all. The first few days I burped but it tasted like lemon!!!! Now I am not burping at all. They say the better the brand the less taste. The reviews for this brand are pretty amazing, out of like 465 almost 400 gave it 5 stars...but who knows if you can trust amazon reviews. I chose this brand after talking to a nutritionist.

Carlson's is a very good company. Our son used their Super DHA 500mg for several years to deal with his ADHD... worked very well.

I use Krill oil now...no burping no fishy anything with it.;)

That's great Stacy2012. I have found alpha-lipoic acid & evening primrose oil to help my pain.

FYI--I have a book called Foods That Fight Pain, Neal D. Barnard, M.D., which says that there are two natural fats from plants that have anti-inflammatory properties:

The first is alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is found in several foods, but in concentrated form in flaxseeds and flaxseed oil. You can ground flaxseed and add to salads, oatmeal, cereal, smoothies, or lots of other foods without even knowing it's there. This is in the omega-3 family of fatty acids, and is also found in fish oil.

The second is called gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is much rarer. It is found in borage oil, evening primrose oil, black currant oil, and hemp oil.

I can't figure out why evening primrose oil helps with my PN, but I have tried borage oil and couple of times, which had more GLA, and it did not help the same way.

Just read your post. Sound very interesting. Would appreciate any additional info; like do you take these two daily. Also, how much of each do you use.

Mrs.D,
The one that is sold at Sam's is sweetened. I am avoiding, as much as possible, anything with added food. Do you have the one from Amazon, sweetened or unsweetened? I am trying to zoom in the nutritional value but it does not zoom in. I wanted to know the total carbohydrates content. If you purchased the unsweetened, kindly tell me the total carbs. I am considering buying it too for my osteoarthritis in my fingers. They are swelling (knuckles) and kinda reddish. I could no longer wear my rings because of the deformed fingers. I am not complaining about the deformed fingers, this is the least of my problems. I cannot take Ibuprofen and Aspirin due to severe allergy.

Thanks.

Mary
