STD Claim Approved!!!!

Hi Guys, many of you know that I stopped working last December and have been fighting the insurance company the entire time. I had short-term and long-term disability benefits that were paid for by my employer. Well, they denied me twice and I filed my final administrative appeal and they had to notify me by Dec 12 of thier decision. They just called and I have been approved!! I am shocked and thankful and excited and I don't know what else...been having a rough time lately and have been up since 1:15 am so this is a nice thing to hear today.

The analyst said they are paying the full six month short-term benefit and sending it over to the long-term department. They should be contacting me next week. I am so happy and proud of myself...I did these appeals without the help of an attorney. I am so thankful to my primary care dr as she wrote a great letter on this last appeal. I am gonna hug her when I see her tomorrow!

I was gonna take a nap since I have been up so long, but now I am wide awake!!

Anyway, I had to share since many of you gave me great tips and good luck wishes.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. This has definitely been a rough year, from beginning to end and most everything in between! This definitely relieves the financial stresses, now I can focus more on myself :)

Congrats!! That is really amazing. It's so hard to fight these battles sometimes...but SO worth it in the end when it pays off. Here's hoping that all that stress being gone makes your life much more pleasant. :)
