Has anyone improved or recovered using MindBody healing?

Hi all,

This week I will be seeing a psychologist who uses MindBody Healing principles as per John Sarno's book The MindBody Prescription. I am still not sure what my condition is yet.

Have any of you improved or recovered from your condition using MindBody healing?

Please let me know your experiences withMindBody healing.

Thanks.

Haven't read it personally, but here's a link from 2011 with an anecdotal description of a person's full recovery from RSD using Sarno's book and methods: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/ar.../t-149841.html

Ness is no longer posting, and did not receive a PM I sent her earlier this year in an effort to explore commonalities between her treatment modalities/experiences and my own full recovery.

Hi JK

I have not tried this for my own conditions, but I do have faith that there is some kind of benefit to this type of therapy. We are mind/body connections, so this must work together. Do it and let us know how you are. ginnie:hug:

I use mindfulness based meditation daily as one of the "tools" to help cope with CRPS.

Has it helped? Absolutely. Is my CRPS any better? The answer is probably no, but the meditation (along with many other strategies) helps me to manage the CRPS. And management is the key with any chronic condition.

Good luck to you!

I agree with the thought of the power of a positive frame of mind and how we look at things...

I echo what Birchlake & Russell has said!

I had reduced my anxiety attacks a lots , sure is because my mind is focusing in other stuff but pain daily .
I also think works well when you mind is relaxing the rest of your body will be as well.
Also I practice mirror therapy using my whole body as therapy ,fix my hair when as many days I can, dress up,do some make up ,take daily picture and focus looking my shelf I the mirror, you see a happy person ,you don't see a sad broke down Jesika ,you see a Jesika smiling and hoping to keep that image forever ,yes might be hard to many to believe or do takes a while get used to but trying at least will give you a different perspective of what you own look make you changes you attitude.
Is nit easy manny times I woke up real late but still use the therapy to try to be ok the rest of the day.
Gentle loving hugs from Jesika . :grouphug:

Thanks everyone. I saw my rheumatologist today who doesn't have a clue what I have and said the pain specialist is the way to go. I am seeing the MindBody healing person tomorrow and will let you know what I think.

Hi,

I went to the first MindBody healing session today and it was mostly about introducing my situation. Not sure what to think of it yet. Next week we will start working through the emotions. Will keep you posted.
