Diclofenac and amitriptyline
 

I am been complaining that my vibrating and twitching have been ramping up lately and that its been really bad. Tonight I'm sitting here trying to figure out why. I think I've figured it out. I've been using my compounded cream pretty liberally( informed Dr and pharmacist, both said it was ok to use that much and over a large portion of my body) It has diclofenac and amitriptyline in it. This afternoon was the first time I put it on my chin line and around my mouth then down my throat. The areas I'm putting the cream are freaking out hours later. My face in those areas ( and other creamed areas) are twitching and vibrating like mad, they are also numb and tingly. Will this stop? Anybody heard of this? This is what I was worried about with taking an antidepressant for anxiety and depression, it would make the twitching worse. I'm scared I've worsened my condition. The extra vibrating and twitching really ramped up about 11 hours after application today. The extra vibrating and twitching has been lingering around because I haven't put the cream on in a couple of days ( other than today) in scared IT won't to back to normal

By all means stop the compound and see if that helps after a few days. It is just a topical after all. Something you said in another post triggered a thought process for me. You said you are on Domperidone, which made me think dopamine and involuntary movements. Twitching, nervousness and involuntary movements are all side effects of Domperidone. How long have you been on it? Isn't there something else the can give you instead? There are other drugs that address GI stuff if that is why you take it. This sounds like a terrible drug for you. Even if you didn't react badly to it initially it is always possible to develop an adverse reaction later on. Why make things any worse than they already are?

This made me think too of the value of pharmacy consults. We used to get them at the hospital I worked in. Pharmacists often know interactions and side effects better than doctors. If they know what symptoms are bothersome they may be able to find something going on with meds that was missed by medicine.

Im not on it anymore. Funny u say the med could have those side effects. Every doc has no way. I was only in it for 8 week. I know it started from the med
