intestinal cystitis?

hi all. i hope you're having a low pain week. i have been having a new problem now. for the past week i have had trouble with my stomach that is getting worse each day. i think i may have a uti maybe my with my bladder but am not sure and am seeing dr tomorrow to find out. its a horrible pain in my lower abdomen and i have been practically living in the bathroom. sorry if this is tmi. i've heard of other rsd and fibromyalgia people who have had intestinal cystitis. not sure if spelling is correct. just wondering if what i have sounds like this. i also feel like i have flu like symptoms. i am really suffering with this and its scaring me. any advice would be greatly appreciated. i hope i don't have diabetes. thanks and hope you all have a restful nite.:grouphug:

I so hope you don't have interstitial cystitis. a UTI would be a much more common cause of your discomfort. Yeast imbalances can cause similar symptoms and can be confined to the urinary tract. So maybe check for that if UTI screen is negative. If you do have an infection that might explain the feeling extra crummy in general.

I hope your appointment finds easy answers and you feel better soon.

thanks littlepaw. if my uti screen is negative i will check for yeast imbalance. hopefully that's all it is and i can take antibiotics to clear it up. i will let you know how it goes. fingers crossed that it is not interstitial cystitis or diabetes. thanks again for your advice and caring words. i feel better already knowing that i have friends here who care. hope you have a good nite. hugs.

Hi RSD ME

I hope that your appointment goes well.

You might find this general information about interstitial cystitis helpful; http://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-info...ges/facts.aspx .

thanks so much for the link kiwi. i am going to print it out and bring it to my dr today. i hope i don't have ic but if i do at least i know of treatment options. i have had endometriosis in the past and saw it mentioned in this article so i will also have him check to see if maybe that came back. thanks again.

Most UTIs are caused by ecoli which can easily be eradicated with D-Mannose. My mother had lifelong cystitis which stopped after she took D-Mannose and after her lifelong constipation was cured with Chia seeds.

Unfortunately, there are the other bacterial infections which require an antibiotic, so you need to be tested.

My health took a significant nose dive in January after I was treated with bactrim for a UTI without being tested.

If you are given an antibiotic you need to take a good probiotic to replace the friendly bacteria that is wiped out by the antibiotic.

Please let us know how you are doing!
