my eye is burning - is it rsd?
hi everyone. hope you are all having a low to no pain day. i haven't been on too much because my hands just hurt too much to type because of my rsd pain levels skyrocketing from the weather changes. now i have a new problem and wonder if anyone here knows if it is related to rsd. my right eye started to feel scratchy and irritated this morning and now it is burning and red and watering up. do you think its rsd in my eye or something else? my eye dr is closed today so i will have to call them in the morning to make an appt. i don't want to go to the er if i can help it. anyway, i would welcome any thoughts and advice on this. thank you my friends. so glad i have all of you to lean on. this eye thing is really freaking me out. hugs to all.:grouphug:

Hi RSD Me,
I am sorry to hear the weather is getting to your hands so badly. And ugh, is your eye burning in a CRPSy type fashion or just burning? You know me, always get checked out and treat as if it were not CRPS until proven otherwise. You don't want to miss something. Try taking an antihistamine and potentially using some allergy eye drops and see if that makes any difference. If not have your doc check for infection. I hope you are able to stay out of the ER. sending hugs and thoughts of healing, |
Pink eye burns, so you should be checked to see if it's just a normal infection.

thanks littlepaw and lit lov. my eye is burning like on the inside of the lid and my eye is getting red so i will see if its just an infection like pink eye. i'm trying to hold out until tomorrow so i can avoid the er. thanks again for your helpful advice. it is getting worse so i have to see a dr and hope they can fix it with some meds. hopefully its not rsd. rsd causes my vision to be blurry but i never had this kind of burning pain. hopefully it's not rsd. thanks again. you guys are the best!

I had a similar problem several times since I developed CRPS that I managed with warm compresses and castor oil. I keep a stack of face clothes for the former ( one use at a time-hot water wash) and to apply the latter I dab it around my eyes with my clean fingers.
Absolutely see a doctor, but you can try a home remedy first, for relief. |
Allergies can be also a culprit of burny, itchy eyes. People forget that fall/winter can bring on allergies. Dust from crops being harvested, change in temperatures, moisture causing mold. Etc. Please get it checked out! Here's hoping its nothing serious, and def not CRPS. ~healing hugs~

Depending where you are, an Urgent Care might be open.
If you're prone to ear infections, it's the same drops used for pink eye. Ciproflexin maybe? |
thanks everyone for your help. i tried some benadryl last nite for the itching and burning and got a little sleep but woke up this morning to find my eye lid swollen and red and the itching and burning is spreading from the inner part of my eye to the outer part. going to the eye dr this morning at 11 a.m. don't know what is going on with my eye but hope its not rsd. its strange that my eye is really not that red. but it hurts like heck. thanks again for your caring and support. having friends like all of you helps calm my nerves a little. hope you all are having a better day then me. soft hugs to all.

Please let us know when you get a chance what the doc said. ~mac

I hope you have some substantial relief by now and an explanation as to what is going on for your comfort on all levels?
Thinking of you. Love and Prayers, DejaVu |
