sleep

has anyone had any luck with treating their sleep problems (particularly waking up at night and not feeling rested in the morning)? i have read all the medical stuff online, got a sleep study done, .. so far nothing has helped.

It might be worth it to get one of these wrist monitors to see if you can find a pattern

Have you tried having a snack before bed so you have some food energy in your system ?

I wonder if a food like Glucerna that is specially formulated for a slow release of energy would help.

i have tried the wrist monitor - unfortunately they are too inaccurate to really tell anything. i'm trying to get a different one now.

also tried salty snacks at night.. so far nothing seems to help. have tried melatonin supplements

Are you on any meds? I know some of the antidepressants can really make you feel crummy in the AM.

i take mag threonate daily but it hasn't really helped

not on any meds other than trying various things specifically for sleep

Are you taking the magnesium at the end of the day ?

Have you tried extended release melatonin ? It only has a short effective time so the extended release may help.

i take mag in the morning, should i try at night? the package says take them in the morning for some reason so that's what i've been doing.

From what I understand, you want a surge of available magnesium as you need to go to sleep.

Here is my sleep remedy:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread221696.html

I take magnesium thru the day and other supps. I sleep very good but don't wake up like I did when I was younger and in much less pain. I believe low cortisol is a major factor with this issue for Many folks.
