Argh!! Why am I awake?!?
It's 4:38 AM and I'm awake. Wide freaking awake. I should be sound asleep not having slept all that much last night.
No pain again tonight. YAY!!! Fell asleep quickly. Woke up at 4:00 wide awake! I have no idea why or how to explain it. Extra energy from the vitamins?? This is nuts! I should have been so tired I didn't move all night. :Ponder: :Dunno: |
At least no pain again so that is a positive for you. To me that sounds late 4.I know you said you were sleeping 12 hours a day so maybe your just rested already. Good luck on more pain free days.

folic acid...
and other B's (except B12) are energizing. Best to take them in the morning.
B12 actually helps me sleep...but that took time to develop. I used to have terrible menopausal insomnia. If you take the magnesium later in the day, that helps with sleep. |
It doesn't matter what time of day most people take B12. There are rare ones who feel they must take their B12 in the morning. Since lack of sufficient B12 can affect people in so many ways, there is a wide variety of responses.
It is very important though to combat that old myth of B12 giving everying a shot of energy. Not true! When people begin B12, if that is what they needed, they can respond sooner or later with energy, improvement in symptoms, temporary worsening of symptoms, fatigue, and/or a huge list on possibilities, including changes in sleep patterns. These are often part of the repair process. I would follow mrsd's advice :circlelove: and give it time. Time will usually tell, sometimes much time. rose |

I went through a bad patch of being awake most of the night, sometimes only 2 or 3 hours sleep every night, this went on for weeks.
So i tried a combination of Valerium supplements and Magnesium, really helped me get a good nights sleep. |
I
Had some pain not bad, just have ti keep a little busy doing day
and get my days and nights worked out. It happens and it will be ok. :( :( Sue |
I rarely sleep. Before the pain I had this issue and tried every med with no relief. Now with the pain and anxiety its impossible. The past few nights maybe 4 hours total. So last night and here comes a vent. I'm finally drifting off and calmer then my friend calls at 1am. Just to say hi. What is wrong with people?

Phones are a tool, not a "have-to-answer" thing for me. Actually, I don't much care for the phone. I'd rather use email and such. I'm sorry that the one night you seemed to be able to drift off ok someone had to do that. |
No. 1 Rule in my house. Turn off ringers on phone in bedroom after 11 p.m.
No. 2 rule in my house. - Take alprazolam No. 3. go to sleep. I am so sorry that you can't sleep. I remember all the nights I'd be in bed till 4 .am. and say "oh well, you can survive, you've done this before" (just like they do in the ambien commercial). I wonder why some meds work on some brains and some meds do not work on some brains. This should be a study in itself. I think the anxious person (well the brain sets off certain impulses) and these prevent us from turning off our anxieties in order to get sleep. I believe as we age it gets harder and harder to sleep. I've read that older people do not require as much sleep as younger people. Do not know if this is true. I do know I never slept as a baby. Drove my mother crazy. As an adult, after I became a parent, never slept either. Always anxious. Even after they grow up (and if they have problems and drive you crazy), well, how can you sleep? Are we just supposed to turn off our brains??? I wonder if the monks in the monastaries ever get anxious and have to go on anti-depressants??? Maybe I'll become a buddist?? Mel |
