Donna's life 2

I seem to keep getting kicked off when I try to post on other thread.

But just password problems. I'm doing good. And hoping to get
back to work a part time because of vacation time in June and quieter
area. But I'm returning to work tomorrow.

I thank Bizi for keeping you updated. I didn't plan to be of computer
so long. but that is life. I'll hopefully be back a couple times or
more a week.

Thanks for prayers and thoughts. Love you all.

Thanks Ladies

I will be taking it slow. I am hoping that my busiest week for a while
is this next week. We will see.

There isn't much I can do about it. But other than driving I'll make
sure its quiet. We go to Terre Haute next weekend. And there is
a chance Derrick will graduate on Friday night. Just found out how
early the Running Long jump is so if he will agree I'll go down and
get him after he jumps. And bring him back. Then return that
night hopefully in time for him to go to the Relay without me.
Its a trial and the final is the next day.

Just hoping he can watch Will doing things some of the time. I feel
bad but its not possible to do everything.

Donna,

Prioritize yourself.

You are right that it is not possible to take care
of everything for everyone.

Thanks ladies

Really getting impatient for whether Derrick will graduate on
Friday or not. This waiting on results from test from
waiver are getting harder.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

I hope Derrick will graduate... they really do let it come down to the wire, don't they?

I will keep my fingers crossed for him :hug::hug::hug:

That's great news Donna! :)
I'm so happy for Derrick!!! :):):)

Dmom3005 06-13-2017 10:46 AM

:hug:Graduation was fantastic. Derrick graduated with an B average.
so that made him cum laude. Which we none of us would have
expected. But it was nice.

Then we went to Special Olympics, I spent most of the morning
with the group. Saw Will run his 50meter and get a 6th place.

Then went to crash at the hotel. Went back the next morning,
but Derrick had updated me as much as he could.
He got a 2nd place in the Javelin throw. And Derrick either a
4th or 5th in the Softball throw.

The next morning Derrick's team got a bronze in the 4 x 100 Relay.
And Will got a 1st place in the Standing long jump

Will was so happy because he wanted a medal.

Donna :grouphug:

It's wonderful that Derrick graduated with a B average! :)

Congratulations to both boys for their achievements at the Special Olympics! :)

I hope you didn't tire yourself out too much, Donna :hug:

Dmom3005 06-15-2017 12:05 PM

I didn't do anything more than I could. I was really tired on Monday
but honestly need to start doing more. So it was a good weekend.

I went to two appointments on Wednesday. The nurse took 320cc of
fluid out of the breast area. And the oncologist was friendly and
took me off the meds from the cancer. Because I don't need it.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 06-16-2017 04:01 AM

Will and Dereck did well :):):)

It sounds that you feel good about the oncologist.

M

OhKay 06-16-2017 08:13 AM

I'm glad that you didn't push yourself Donna, but are ready to start doing a little more.
How are your spirits?
Is your family being good to you?

I'm glad it was a good weekend. I hope you have another good one coming up :)

Dmom3005 06-16-2017 02:15 PM

Yes, my family is being good to me. I had lunch with Derrick, my friend
Shannon and her son Chris on Wednesday. We were celebrating Derrick's
birthday a day early. He and Chris went to Indiana Beach on his birthday.
Its and amusement park they have season tickets too.

Yesterday and Today I've tried to rest mainly. Just really having rough
days. We are throwing an graduation party for Derrick on Sunday
night. So we will see what else I'm up to doing.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

Mari 06-17-2017 03:17 AM

Donna,

I hope that you have better days.

OhKay 06-17-2017 07:34 AM

I hope that you get past this rough patch and start feeling better soon, Donna :hug::hug::hug:

Dmom3005 06-19-2017 04:24 PM

I had a pretty good day yesterday. And Derrick had a pretty good party.

I had so much trouble sleeping because I didn't get home till around 11pm
or later last night. So it was a long night. But not bad.

I slept in this morning then had a upset stomach after soaps so laid down
for a while again. Didn't sleep then, which I have found I need to make
sure I don't sleep to much in afternoon because then I don't sleep at
night.

But its been a good day.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 06-20-2017 01:59 AM

I hope that you sleep well tonight, Donna.

M

OhKay 06-20-2017 05:01 AM

I'm glad Derrick had such a good party! :)

I'm sorry you had a hard time sleeping. You need your sleep now. I hope you got a lot last night :hug::hug::hug:

Dmom3005 06-20-2017 02:14 PM

I slept really good last night. Its really hot here and we will see how it
goes.

I don't have anything new right now. Just life.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

OhKay 06-21-2017 04:47 AM

I'm glad you slept well :)

It's been really hot here, too. I don't deal well with the heat. I know you don't either :hug:

Dmom3005 06-27-2017 03:27 PM

I've been resting most of the month. Next month I'll have to go
back to my working 24 hours a week. But it will still not be a lot.
I'm planning to go to the counties I serve and set up some workshops.

It will take between 2 and 3 hours driving. But that is easier than
doing nothing.

I have not been able to tell this week if I need drained again. But I also
am getting ready to go to Kokomo and South Bend. Kokomo to
see my family, and South Bend for my directors open house on Friday
he is retiring after around 30 years. Wow, he is really going to be
missed by many of us. We have one more that will probably retire
in the next couple of years. Then a few of us employees.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 06-28-2017 05:44 AM

I hope that your new director is a good one.
I'm glad that you feel like you will be up to going back up to 24 hours a week next month :)

I'm glad that you will be taking the trip to go see your family :)

bizi 06-28-2017 11:33 AM

Donna, I could not figure out why you are having drainage? Is this aftermath of your mastectomy? Did you get an infection? Or is this something new????
Sorry if you have been thru this info before...

Dmom3005 07-04-2017 08:49 PM

First, I got to Kokomo on Wednesday, had a great night and morning on Thursday. Went to go to South Bend, got about 30 to 40 miles up to
Peru Indiana. Had my radiator go out. Got really lucky that a retired
couple lived close. And called the Chevy place for me. Got my car
towed. I also got lucky that a guy had stopped and helped Derrick
push my car out of the street. And to another drive, then this
guy asked to push the car to his drive way. So the three of them
did that. I forgot to ask the guy his name and really hate that.

But got the couples name and the tow truck took me to town.
So the couple didn't have to. My sister came to get me and
Derrick. That was Thursday.

Got a call late Friday afternoon, but it was to late to get a ride.
So my sis took me up yesterday to pick up my car. I think I might
have gotten an added benefit from the radiator being fixed.

Looks like my air condition works.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 07-06-2017 06:57 AM

I'm sorry for your car troubles Donna :hug:

I continue to be impressed by your positive attitude :)

I've really been enjoying reading about the things that Derrick has been up to lately. It seems like he has been doing really well, and has been helping you out a lot :)

Dmom3005 07-06-2017 10:29 AM

Yep, Derrick has always been lots of help. He runs miles around my other
two. But they have their moments. Like the other Day Dan cleaned up
an really big mess on the kitchen floor of no good fruits and other things.
No idea what all. He has also been good at running errands for me.
And retrieving a dog that likes to come visit them. Which is good because
I sometimes have no energy.

I usually see Devin and Meluvja some in a month. But since she hurt her
foot and knee I haven't seen them much. He has been busy for over a month
doing most of the house work. And working. He is learning how much
it takes to keep things straight.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Dmom3005 07-07-2017 01:28 PM

I have been staying in as much as possible. Its just way to humid and hot.
I will go with Kortni on Monday to help get Harmony fit for a helmet.

She has a flat area I think its called with her head. Not sure how long she
will be wearing the helmet.

Meluvja, will be getting an mri in the next two weeks, because her foot isn't
getting any better. Doesn't sound good. Her knee is going to be at least
another 4 weeks I believe. Its a torn or strained mcl. From the internet
looks like Grade 3.

Just life at my area.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 07-08-2017 06:13 AM

I wish things were going better for your clan :hug:

I'm trying to stay inside, or limiting the amount of time out, right now because of the heat and humidity, too. Stay cool, Donna :hug:

Dmom3005 07-10-2017 08:53 AM

Well for some reason my husband's back is hurting a lot. He will live
though. It happens about once a year. And will probably start
sooner and sooner, he is getting older. Just life. He is starting to
realize things hurt.

I am taking Kortni and Harmony to town today. To get Harmony
fit for a helmet.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 07-11-2017 08:42 AM

I'm sorry about your husband's back, Donna. I hope that his troubles are only brief. Has he seen a doctor about it, or does he just tough it out?

My husband just turned 40, has had back problems for over 10 years, and refuses to see a doctor :rolleyes:

bizi 07-11-2017 11:01 PM

now takes effect for indiana:

SEA 475 – Developmental Delay
A proposal to help identify students with a developmental delay to ensure they receive the state educational resources they need to succeed in school was the first bill offered by Sen. Melton to pass the legislature. SEA 475 will require the State Board of Education to amend its rule stating that developmental delay is a disability only identifiable for students between the ages of three and five, extending the upward age cap to nine years of age based on a recommendation from a 2015 legislative summer study committee. Experts who testified at the committee stated that there is a crucial age gap from five to eight years old where children do not receive necessary services, and this newly enacted law would close that gap. The language will provide a continuum of services for children and their families, reduce inaccurate labeling of children with disabilities, and will be more cost-effective in the long-term.
