another round.........

Okay so I went to the dr today and she put me on a trial run of a new med.
Its called ......
Meloxicam....or mobic........
I have never even heard of it.......any clues on how it works anyone?

It is an anti-inflammatory drug.....I hate using something when I have never heard of it or no clue what it does for folks.
It is for me to use in place of so much other otc stuff I use for pain.

I have that now its a once a day....if it works it has to be better then all the advil/tylonol/ibpu/excederin I use daily......

Wish me luck.........

also had elevated liver enzymes.....and sweeling in the joints in several places.....so..........
I am on another round of the stupid roids........
Hate um Hate um......

I am due to have some company next week and I will spend the whole time shoving munchies in my mouth........
Have to think of things to do away from home and from the pantry and fridge lol.......

But hopefully I will feel better and be rid of this dang pain and headaches I have everyday.........

Wish me luck and maybe mention my name in a prayer would yas?
Thanks,
(the munchie queen)
Kay

Hi Kay

I take Mobic. My understanding is its a Cox inhibitor like cellebrex so its helps with pain and more importantly inflammation

What else can I tell you?

Not sure if you can use this or not but milk thistle helps with liver cleansing.

I've used it for several years in my dogs and more recently in cats also as an anti-imflammatory/pain reliever. We do routine blood work and have not had any abnormal labs for those on it. I hope it helps you feel better. Jules

I've never heard of it either, Kay, but I will be very happy if it works for you. Good thoughts and vibes coming your way..

I was afraid you were headed towards the roids. Hopefully it will make you feel better.

As for mobic. I've heard of it. Just don't know anything about it.

Wish I could help more, but alas, I cannot.

Feel better sweetie.

I tried mobic in there somewhere ... between bextra and lexapro, I think. There were so many. I am to meds as Emelda Marcos was to shoes.

:p

It didn't do me any good but didn't hurt either. it was about like taking a bunch of Tylenol. I think I still have 5 or 6 of em in the pill trunk.

I was also wondering if they were going to give you another round of roids... sorry to hear that. You want me to send you some almond joys? oreos?

DAY1 02-22-2008 10:33 PM

Look at it this way. You can eat an entire batch of brownies and blame it on the roids.

Man, now I'm hungry and I started my diet today:(

OH MAN!! A BROWNIE sounds sooooooooooooooo good right now.

Feel better girlfriend:hug:

Sorry to hear that you're back on the 'roids, and yes I think we all hate those "muchies" that go with them.

As for Mobic....... It's widely used in Australia and is a good anti-inflammatory & pain reliever used mostly here for arthritic pain. So far I haven't heard of any of those nasty side effects, as exhibited with other drugs like Voltaren & Celebrex.

Get well soon FFM.
