another question...
Hi all...
I have an appointment to see an MD on Friday so that I maybe I can get a referal to mental health spec.... Is there anything that I specifically need to let the doctor know or any questions that I should ask?? I can't get my thoughts together very well and I'm trying to write things down but with scattered thoughts... it's not working to well... In the last week I've been from depressed to a crazy high to depressed to not wanting to breathe to having all of these at once.... and it just keeps circling around.... Anything that I can write down to try to let the doc know what is going on will be helpful... What I have written just doesn't make sense.... I do take Cymbalta... is there anything I should ask about meds??? thanks, Abbie |
HI abbie,
This sounds like it has been a hard week...so glad that you are headed in the right direction and will be getting some help. You may want to draw a time line out with major points highs and lows in the past 10 years if you have enough memory of the past....perhaps you could print out some of your other posts if that would help. The best thing that you could do is try to be true to yourself. Let your true feelings show...don't try to "act Normal".... explain about the highs and lows and that you want to try a mood stabilizer if that is what you want to do. This is your life and your body....your responsibility. I am very proud of you for doing this.... (((((HUGS))))) bizi |
Hi,
The doc should have some questions for you or a form to fill out. Can you bring in a one page list of things to remember to mention in case they seem important? Things you might include -how long you have been sad -how long you have been anxious -how well you sleep -how the sadness or anxiety effects your day to day activities / life. -how the Cymbalta might be effecting you. Also, you can talk about your job or school history. Mari |
