Florida Fires

Florida has been abnormally dry for some time now and today some brush fires have become infernos fuelled by very high winds. This has resulted in a stretch of I-95 closing, plus evacuations in Cocoa Beach, Palm Bay and Daytona

the winds are howling out there, and many people are now in shelters, unsure of whether they will have homes in the morning:(
Please pray for them, as well as for the firefighters battling the blazes in these very adverse conditions. Forecast for tomorrow is another hot, dry and very windy day

Oh my... thank you Cheri for posting this.... I haven't been paying attention to the news.

I have a friend that lives very near Cocoa Beach... I pray she and her family are safe.

All citizens and firefighters are in my prayers.

I hadn't seen news today so was unaware of all these fires. Thanks for updating us all Chemar. How close are these fires to the New Smyrna area? Know we have a few NeuroTalk ones such as Burntmarshmallow-Tina that are in that area.

Prayers being said for everyone in this area of Florida,

Marilyn

The Governor has declared state of emergency, and the cops are looking for arsonists:mad:
It's Brevard and Volusia County and so New Smyrna is in the area...... tho thankfully I havent heard of any fire there.
But the smoke is everywhere:( and the winds are still high and no rain in the forecast

they had to evacuate schools today too and more homes and so far 12 houses are confirmed destroyed............
