from England with pituitary tumour hello

Hello my name is Roy and i live in Devon England,and thats nowhere near London in case you wondered, i was told i had a pituitary tumour 18 months ago, but who knows how long i have really had this, the first 12 months were ok as far as treatment goes, and this was with drugs, but lately have felt crap and very tired with a lot of headaches as they keep increasing the dose because treatment has not worked as they expected , they now tell me it has wrapped around some blood vessels making surgery more difficult now if they go down that route, i know there is only one more level of drugs they can put me on , i now am off work at the moment because of feeling so bad, i am nearly 45 years old and feel so hopeless because of this as i am not doing things for my family like i should, has anyone got a magic wand i can borrow please.

My husband also had a tumor in that area wrapped around blood vessels. I would like to let you know that it was successfully removed without problems and it was benign. Good luck to you.

Roy, have you investigated treatment by a specialist in EEA (expanded endonasal approach) pit surgery? I am here for another problem, but happen to be a neuro ICU nurse in Pittsburgh. There is a doctor at UPMC named Amin Kassam and he has been known to work wonders. We frequently get cases from all over the world that others won't touch. It's certainly worth your time to investigate being treated or seen by him-he's sort of "the man" when it comes to this.
