the "parkiejam" website

has been stolen. Laura Dean can no longer access it. She is in tears over this. I hope the people involved will realize the damage they are doing. There is a trojan horse associated with this site, so be careful if you go there.

addendum:

the trojan horse is not a problem, I have discovered. It was an attachment to an email. I am thoughly confused by this whole situation. Parkiejam.net is still under Laura's ownership.

I really do not understand how other PWP's could do this.

I hope the principals involved will engage in a constructive dialogue and solve this problem. Laura deserves better.

end addendum
Why can't we all just get along??

I hope we can get a dialogue going here that will solve this problem. In the mean time I have instructed Laura how to get control of parkiejam.com
back.

parkiejam

:( How can someone steal a website??

Thelma 11-09-2006 12:48 PM

IL too don't understand. It may not be malicious at all if someone unknowingly sent her an attachement and it contained a virus. Seems she doesn't have her security set up right.

Anyone can send anything it is up to you to protect yourself from a mistake or a malicious happening.

i have my own web site.

i would suggest that laura dean contact her web server. she may have to set new passwords through her server. i would also suggest that she change those passwords often. her server will have her original contact information to verify who she is.

i hope this helps.

this is what I had her do. Evidently a webmaster who had offered his help, turned out to be a "less than honest" person. She contacted her ISP and the problem is supposedly handled.

Which one

Was it parkiejam.org or parkiejam.net?

If the problem isn't resolved, I would be happy to help. I have been a professional nerd now for 12 years running.

neither,, its dot com, and no the issue is still not resolved. if YOU GUYS type parkiejam.com in your address bar it flies the flag of parkinson profiles, if I type it in, I get "site not found".

I will not name names, but there is more than speculation about this site being stolen. One of the main people in there used to work closely with me when it was parkiejam. the webspinner refused to allow me administration priveldges and after i voiced rather loudly my opinion on this matter, found myself unable to enter my own domain. i asked this person to help me aand she said that she also had been banned from site after her attempt at communication with the webspinner. i tried to close down site now out of my hands and through a suggestion of a close friend allowed a person who DID have access to send out messages to all members that their membership was being deleted due to circumstances beyond my control. when the memberships were all deleted, i assumed that would close it. i was wrong. suddenly it became parkinson profile with an introduction slamming the "previous" owner in words that i had abandoned the site. and the gracious webspinner had made things so wonderful for the new site. i was allowed access to this "site" .. still under parkiejam.com... as a member.. yet, every thing i typed in to question was deleted. the person who told me she had been booted, is now there.. top of the helm trying very hard to establish such a nice environment. i have gone into my yahoo business accoount where the domain was established and found parkiejam.com had been somehow "deactivated" yet it still was in the registry. I never cancelled my domain hame holding, just the domain hosting in the hopes this would shut it down.. it didnt. so, today, i reactivated the domain and had everything to do with parkiejam.com rerouted to parkiejam.net.. it still isnt working..
