I have had ENOUGH snow! Uncle! Uncle!

If you knew me, you would know how large that statement is. I have friends from all over the USA call to tell me when it first starts snowing in their state. I LOVE LOVE LOVE snow! I have been a snow freak for a long time.

Last year we got over 12 feet of snow. The year before we had more than 10 and while we loved it, its now getting to be alot like work. We moved to the back woods of NH to just relax, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Well, there is NO peace and quiet. The summers are filled with campers, and renters who use the lake. The winters are full of snow mobilers, and skiiers cutting through. It has been snowing like every 3rd day! we are not talking a dusting or 4 inches. its been snowing a foot at a time! Every three days has cured me of wishing for snow...EVER! we are expecting another 20 inches today!

My back is sore from shoveling. The oil tank is again running low, and we have burned through more fire wood than we expected. The snow thrower keeps shearing off the cotter pin, and my poor car is buried under there somewhere. We have a big gas guzzling SUV that we would have been completey home bound without. Every sidewalk is blocked with snow banks. Every parking lot is cut in half because there is no where to store it. Every neighbor or local business has an icy track leading to their door. No one seems to be able to get ahead of this mess!

Enough! Uncle! I want to go visit someplace warm. Who has a spare bed?

Pretty sick up and fed up here, too!

I used to LOVE winter, couldn't wait to be out there doing everything, even candle making, in the snow. Life is very different now and I want out of here!

This is the guy plowing my driveway on Monday, no joke, this is honestly my freakin' front yard!

Sounds like my sister.

She lives in NY State right now. She called us last night to tell us her pilot light was off. She doesnt know how to turn it back on. She sent the kids to her mom-in-law's house.

I dont know why my dad didnt offer to pay for a hotel room for her. I dont have any money, otherwise I would have offered to pay. She and the b-in-law were probably pretty cold last night.

She would have gone to the in-law's with the kids, but her sister-in-law is nuts and hates my sister (doesnt mind the kids tho) so my sister was cold last night. (I personally would have told the sis-in-law to go screw herself)

I might have to insist to my dad that he pay for a hotel for my sister if her heat isnt fixed today. I'm hoping she calls in a bit to tell us if she's gotten it fixed yet. My dad is a bit dense at times, so I might have to really push him to pay for a room for them, or I might tell my sister to ask him to pay for a room. I dont always get along with my sister (ok, I never do) but I dont like the thought of them being cold. Plus, I think the part of NY State that they live in might be getting dumped on for snow.

I'm wondering if my sister is going to push for moving to a more southern state soon. I think my dad would like it if they were closer to us.

Anyone else think that Al Gore is a whackjob for saying that global warming is happening??? We've gotten a ton of snow here too, and it's been colder than usual. I dont mind the snow so much as I mind the cold. (cant wait till the new gas fireplace is working)

I think this thread should be immediately emailed to whoever says he/she wants to move up here where life is simple. :D

It's snowing here now - supposed to get another 6 inches or so. The last snow we got never melted, cuz it never warmed up enough.

My yard looks a lot like your pic, AMN. The poor dogs. Dh has to shovel a path for them, and ya look out the window to see if they're okay, they look like toupees running around. All you can see is the top of their backs.

I agree with you all! Forcast here in Maine - Snow starting around noon today - 12" - 14" before changing to sleet, freezing rain and then rain!

Nothing like getting it all in one day!

AMEN SISTER! (And I know that our snow does not compare to yours.)

It snowed here, about 4 inches Sun/Mon and freezing rain on top of that Tue....4 more inches of snow, on top of that this morning..

My shovel guy just came to the door...$40,00 to shovel out this mess from my walk, porch and driveway. He has a big blower, but will have to use shovel for ice..

I'm expecting two deliveries today, which will probably not make it...sheesh...I usually love snow too Dej, but, like you say, enough is enough..

Dog has been doing his business on the patio, which I will have to clean up, as soon as it's warm enough to go outside..

Buffalo, its snowing as usual

We got a few inches (around 5 or 6) of snow overnite. Supposed to keep at it all day today. Thats ok, at least we arent getting the ice!!! What a mess the south is! Has anyone noticed how much wind weve been getting in the last couple of years? Thats what Ive noticed about weather changes. Last summer here the skys were the weirdest Ive seen in years. Big, puffy, fall looking clouds in the middle of summer and lots of wind to go with them. Beautiful looking, but errie at the same time! Everyone keep warm!
