Have you started on or increased or decreased any new meds in the past month? Have you cut back on caffeine??? Or drinking more??? Are you taking any allergy or cold medications??? A

ll of the above would cause those reactions in ME. I'm sure other members will have other input. That is a very intriguing question and I am interested to hear others' responses. I hope you sleep WELL and PEACEFULLY tonight!!!

This may or may not help.....by your name, I'm hoping it will. But my daughter (5), too, has been afraid to sleep due to bad dreams. I make SURE I pray with her every night and ask God to watch over her and send His angels to her as she sleeps. She believes with a blind faith, but I believe with faith in my whole heart that God can and does do that when we ask him to.

One night, she dreamed that angels were playing with unicorns in an all white building and there was a blanket with stars all over it.....she went on and on in her description. I just thanked God for answered prayer.

My suggestion.... specifically pray to God to guard your sleep and your dreams (that IS Biblical) and rest well!! Perhaps read the Bible or a good Christian book until you're sleepy??? I hope this helps and didn't offend you!!! I greatly care about how you're doing!!

Suggestion

From my experience, my nightmares are directly linked to PAIN! Usually, I have my leg in the jaws of a large crocodile, or I am being crushed by some type of large machinery. Maybe my foot is in a campfire... you get the idea.

I have a mild sleeping aid (Ambien) that I take if I am having a particulary bad evening with a lot of pain just before bed. Maybe that would help. Just don't overdo it. That stuff can be a bad mix with heavy-duty pain drugs!

Hope you get some good rest soon.

I sleep very little but I do dream bad dreams though about my pain and health in general. It is a constant thought I guess. I never dreamed or had nightmares before this. Some meds I have heard can contribute. On a side not it has never helped me relax but for others relaxtion and or meditation tapes to relax to calm the mind and body.

Hi Carrie,

It's strange that you mention having weird and scary dreams with RSD as for the past month or so now, I have been waking up several times a night with dreams or nightmares.

The dreams aren't always scary - sometimes they can be about what I have done during the day and what I need to do the following day etc and sometimes they can be REALLY scary and I keep having a persistant dream about my grandad that passed away in November coming back to see me ... if only that was true!!!!

For me, I think the dreams/nightmares are caused by a lot of emotional stress that I have going on at the moment with School, Family etc etc and I think that the pain makes it worse also ... I tend to notice that the more pain I am in, the more weird dreams I have!!

I am going to mention it to my Doctor when I next see him and I would highly recommend you do the same also as you shouldn't be having to go through all of this! I know it's hard (especially with RSD!!) but please try and make your life as stress-free as possible - stress will only make things worse and COULD be contributing to some of your problems! Also if you are on any meds such as Ketamine, speak to your doctor as that could be causing the problems.

Take care and please keep us updated!!!

hey ali
no i dont ake ketamine i have a pump with fentnly in it but i see my doc the 26 and i will see what he says but its something i tell u.i think alot of it is stress and pain related for it all of a sudden to have these crazy dreams nothing ihave dreamed bout pertains to daily life i think . for example some one tryin to break in the house and hurt me or a irish gypsy cursing me and tourting me lol it sounds funny now but at night its not so funny

Hello and what a great question

I did last year, but it was from a med they had me on,

I had little critter jumping all over my bed, I called them demons, they would yell, and jump all over my bed and me, I was half awake, and could hear everything going on in the next room, but the little buggers just would leave me alone, I was like frozen when they came in at night, and could not move or yell for help, they are gone now thank god, and I stop taking the med,
but I also use to hear a radio go off in my head, at night that would wake me up, I think that was from hitting my head in my car crash,

but now I do not even dream, but I only get hmm 2 to 3 hrs of sleep a night,
has anyone ever ask there Dr's about this?

peace
Kelly
