RSD Alert Bracelet, Anyone?
http://dl7.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...x7fasenwpr.gif Hello All,
Recently, I purchased 5 RSD Awareness bracelets for me and my family to wear. The funds($10.00) go to RSD awareness. I purchased the bracelet for myself so that in case of an emergency, and I wasn't able to communicate, medical professionals would have a clue...RSD Awareness. I carry a list of medications, along with DianeA's wonderful contribution site concerning hospital protocol,(http://www.rsds.org/4/resources/pdf/...l_protocol.pdf), in my purse. My husband has a copy, also. Do any of you wear a medical alert bracelet? Dew |
Dew!
More info needed for my brain challenged self. (and maybe more of us). Where do we get these? Can we have them in Gold? With Diamonds? Or Ruby/Saphirres? (Oh, sorry, thinkin' I was still married)..... Hah! Seriously, It's a great idea. And, to carry a card that contains your prescriptions! Imagine, going into the emergency room, unconscious, and you cannot tell them what medications you take daily? What a nightmare! They'd be treating "symptoms" that are only "withdrawal" from our "normal" cocktail of meds! This, is Important! Thanks, Dew! Pete asb |
i also carry the med cards with alleriges and current meds. if i hadnt when i had to hae my appendix out in dec and was basicly so sick i couldnt think .. it would of been horrible.. i wasnt at my hospital at different and they had no clue who i was..

The silicone bracelet is stretchable, and I can't even feel it on my skin.:) |

I have a laminated card the size of a business card. It has a logo on it of a person in a wheelchair, it's red and stands out so that they know they have to be careful and that I have a disabilty. The card mentions "CRPS", and has a list of my medication. I might have my dad make another one that additionally states: careful, "late diagnosis" - almost 3 years into CRPS.

Hello,
The bracelet is a good idea. I've seen the one you are talking about Dew. One of my doctors has encouraged me to get it. Of all the things I have accepted and learned to handle with RSD and my life. I feel like it's a lable I'm not ready to wear. I know it can make a differenc if I go to the hospital for an emergency. I keep a card of my meds. I also keep track via my computer the meds I have tried and the dosage and why I no longer take them. That way should I have to see a new doctor I can have that info. as well. I also keep a record of the doctors I have seen for my RSD. Like all of you the list is long the good thing is I haven't had to add anyone in over 3 years. Take care, Sherrie |

I understand,Sherrie. I am not pushing anyone to wear an RSD bracelet, I just wear one, and was curious if others on NT(RSD/CRPS) wore one, too. I am not affiliated with the site that I posted, other than that I purchased the bracelets from the site . You are loved..and wearing a bracelet, or not...will change that fact:hug: Dew. |
