Did you ever....?

Have you ever lost something and become totally obsessed with finding it?

It's driving me batty! I had my mp3 player (a Sansa player, not an iPod) with me at my last neuro appointment. I think I remember carrying the player in my hand as I was walking out of the office, but for the life of me, I cant remember what I've done with it since then.

It's the last time I remember even seeing it. I've called my neuro's office to see if they found it, and I'm considering calling the two stores I visited on my way home (Walgreens next door to my neuro, and Hobby Lobby) to see if they found it, but it was way back at the end of April. I doubt they'd still have it if they found it.

It's driving me nuts. I dont exactly need it, since I do have an iPod, but it was my first mp3 player and I still kind of like it. I just cant find it anywhere.

argh!!!

The fact that I cant remember having it once I got out to my car is what's driving me nuts. Everything after coming out of his office is a blur to me. I dont even remember if I took a crochet project bag with me, or if I just had my Kindle to read with me that day. I looked all over my car, and my bedroom. It's just nowhere to be found.

I constantly lose this thing too. I've lost it after coming out of the neuro's office before at least twice. Each time it was in a purse or a crochet project bag. This time I just cant find it at all.

Anyone else have problems finding things they lose? A lot??

Oh yes! It's not the losing things that worries me, it is the fact that I can't remember chunks of time. I mean absolutely no immediate memory of it. Now a few days later I remember bits and pieces.

I now have specific routines of placing important things. Like if a bill comes in, or I use my keys, my purse, jewlery... I DO NOT leave anything just laying around. I immediately go put up things in the place I know they should be.

I have a Sansa too... hope you find yours.

have you checked in between the seats of the car? I lose a ton of stuff down there.

I would cry without my sony walkman that has my WMA audio books on it.

I've dug thru the car a couple of times today. I even looked in my dad's car!

I've looked for all the jackets and sweaters I could have been wearing that day (I dont have that large of a wardrobe to choose from) I've looked in my dad's desk, my mom's desk...I've been digging thru my computer desks. I just cant find the thing.

I found the cable that attaches to the computer and charges the Sansa, so if I do ever find it, I'll be able to charge it and move music around on it.

It's just irritating that I cant find it.

I called the Hobby Lobby I went to that day, and naturally, they didnt have it. (doubt anyone would turn in an mp3 player anywhere)

At least I didnt have the extra micro SD card in the player that day. I found that today too. I hope I lost the player once I got home. If I lost it here, maybe we'll find it in the house somewhere.

I think I might go vacuum my car out and see if the vacuum sucks it up or something. There are parts of the floor of my car that I'm afraid to put my hand into. (spiders?) Maybe I can talk my mom into reaching into those areas?

Well, I once misplaced a flashlight and found it the next day in the refrigerator! :o

Once you stop looking for it you'll find it.

I'll probably find it in the last place I look for it. :)

I've been looking for it since that neuro visit that I took it to. I just cant remember anything about what I did with it after I left.

I remember buying a yarn cutter that day at Hobby Lobby, but other than that, I cant remember what else I did that day.

That happens to me all the time!! ;)

Good luck......it'll turn up. Could your boyfriend have borrowed it? Or maybe you left it in his car?

I can't stand it when I loose something, even a piece of paper (which happens more often than I'd like to admit). I know where I had it last but it's not there. I try to retrack my steps (when it happens at home) but that doesn't always work. When things get tough I resort to begging my DH and DD to look for it for me. They usually find whatever I am looking for in a very strange place.

I am the world's worst worrier for all things lost. I can recall dozens of things that I know I have lost that seemed important at the time, and I still have fond thoughts for and would like to have back. I still fret over things I lost as a child.
It amazes my OH that I even remember the things I've forgotten where I put.
I hate hate hate losing things. It worries me. I feel troubled until it's found or I realise it's gone for ever.
I also lose chunks of time, especially if there's too much happening at once. I guess losing time is worse than objects :(

Try to visualise where you would be if you were the thing that was lost. That usually works for me.

well, my boyfriend doesnt have it. He lives 50 miles from me, and I hadnt seen him for a month until a couple of weeks ago. Music player has been missing since probably the very end of April.

I'm wondering if it's in the bottom of one of my yarn baskets. (I have a LOT of yarn!)
