Hi Ada, How are you doing? So nice to hear from you but under the circumstances of my question, I'd rather you not have found this insipid Polymyalgia Rheumatica. So sorry dear. I hope your holiday season was joyous. That your kids surrounded you with love. Are you ok? I know you must have found this so difficult as it being your first year and all. But hopefully you tried really hard to keep your traditions going and kept busy.

My step-mother is absolutely positively miserable! And with my father not being in the bestest of health himself. He has myasthenia gravis this is sure not what they needed right now.

I guess G*d must know what he's doing plaguing our family with RSD, MG and now Polymyalgia Rheumatica. How can one family have so many rare problems?

I spoke with my Dad on New Years Day and their doctor decided to put my step-mom on prednisone. We are praying that this will ease her pain at least a little. Stop the tears and make her at least a little more comfortable.

Joan I read in the Mayo link that this is a good course of action and that if she doesn't respond to steriod treatment she might not even have Polymyalgia Rheumatica.

I'm keeping in touch and giving her as much support as possible and considering I've got the hand/arm RSD I can truly understand what she is going through.

I guess she falls into the category of waking up one morning in awful pain. Just didn't know what hit her. All it has done is get worse. I guess the only consellation to Polymyalgia Rheumatica is that as quickly as it has come into her life, one day it will just disappear! I hope that day comes very quickly for her.

Claudia....hey...wassup? Hope all is well with you.

Happy New Year!

With aloha, Dana
