Carrie -

I am so sorry to hear what you went through. It sounds terrifying.

For what it's worth, I had tons of allergies as a child and would take a lot of epinephrine for anaphylaxis from one thing or another: bee stings were my specialty. Then about the time I developed RSD it appears that I went through something called a T1/T2 shift, by which the T-cells switched from attacking antigens (other) to self. Anyhow, on the one hand, all of my allergies went away over night, on the other hand, even a couple of (the real) Sudafed tablets (think of it as synthetic cortisol: fight or flight, etc.) would trigger a flair that would last for a day or more.

But nothing like your experience, to be sure. Glad you made it back. And best of luck with the thumb!

Mike
