I have been doing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for two hours a day, 5 days a week for almost two weeks now, and it is helping!! I found a study that showed some people going into complete remission from this treatment, and convinced my doctor to let me give it a try. After the first few treatments, the color started to return to my foot and ankle where the original injury occured. After each treatment, I can walk normally for a few hours before the pain comes back, and yesterday, the shower spray hit my foot, and it didn't send me through the roof! I am so hopeful and excited. I know not everyone can do this therapy, but for those who can, it is definitely worth a try. It is only costing me $62 per treatment becasue my insurance pays 80%. The doctors recommend 20 treatments minimum and then they decide whenther you shoud continue on depending on your response. If your doctor will give you a prescription, more insurance companies are starting to cover this as a treatment for RSD. Even if this doesn't put me in complete remission, if I can help others to find some pain relief and hope, it will be well worth it.
