Hello,
I was looking for any help I can get with a couple of questions. First off I was diagnosed with rsd after an injury at work 7+ months ago. I've been diagnosedby multiple docs, and now have rapidly progressd. Work comp has just informed me that I have to apply for social security within the next few weeks or lose my ttd checks. I've called and set up an appointment w/ ss(the only available date is in a little over a week)and they told me to bring in all my medical records. Not sure what all is needed. I've got to get all my records from my main w/c doctor,Physical therapist, and pain doc but on everything I've recieved so far from my main w/c doc there is no mention of the rsd on any of it even though it's been verbally dicussed and I'm being treated by a pain managment doctor for it. Do I need to discuss this with my doctor first? It just feels like I'm going into this appointment w/ ss empty-handed. I've also been dealing with insomnia, depression, and anxiety along with all the joys of rsd, but havent been referred to a psychologist yet or been put on any meds( except for lyrica and ambien) yet. I've dealt with disability in the past for a family member and know how much of a hassle they can make it w/ paperwork and documentation and hoops to jump through, and I'm worried I'm going in there empty handed and don't want to screw myself over or make it any harder to get approved in the long run. Thanks in advance for any help. Just got hit with this yesterday and now I'm all stressed, but its the weekend and can't get ahold of anyone for answers |

I would try to talk to the doctor, and make sure you get all of the medical records that you can. There is a website that has lots of info on how to apply, what to bring, and everything else you might want to know.
Here ya go http://www.disabilitysecrets.com/ Hope this helps ![]()

Allen, my man, GOD's ALWAYS With US!!!
You've always got so much to give! So, too do I!! Now, I''ve got to give it all up to ssi, since my private disability has been paying for SOOO long ( God thank thems ), now, it's time for me to apply to SDDI??? I reckon so... Thanks for your direction, although I don't quite get it yet. You are the man! Thanks, So Kindly for that website! Lots to be learned there! While I'm just beginning, it seems that, due to my insurance, I've got little time to lose, and, I'm on "their" side", since that's what paper I signed! This particular Ins. Co. had to do with me, they have done their best! I consider myself, very lucky! I could have been left laying in the bottom of a ditch! I won't even go to th3 bottonon== |

Geronimo,
I wish I could help you more..... My ins. company, (Personal disability), is gently pushing me, through the SSDI, application. I can't even read the dam thing, let alone write some reply. (I cannot hand- write). I have a call into them, after, well, I' suppose i've wasted some of their time. I thought I was just supposed to sign some papers... Ya. Sure. I've got half an inch of papers, and most of them need writing. Forget it. I simply can't do it! Why don't they understand, that, that's my disabillity? I can "type" out a few paragraphs, and then start to sound really stupid. Yet, I can't do it for myself. Does anyone understand this?' THANK GOD for my Mac! It has grammar, and spell check, throughout the system, so I don't seem so stupid! If you'd all only hafto see, how many auto-correct my Mac needs make for me, by the end of any msg.., you'd think me a total loser! Well, maybe you do anyway... Geronimo, Don't give up! There is Help to be gotten! If you find you can't do it well (I have a TBI), reach out! That's another condition! God Bless you , fellow! Pete ASB Be well! I'm trying, I'm pushing through a migraine, right now!...... |

One thing I can remember is that the questions seem to be repeated in different ways throughout the application. It would be good to read through the app before writing anything.
Something I did was write all the answers on separate piece of paper, then after much anxiety wrote the answers on the application. It might even be good to go look here for other tips and tricks. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum28.html There is tons of good information here. People have shared their stories, tips, and everything else. A real goldmine of social security information. ![]()
