It was approved by drug-controlling bodies worldwide, including the FDA. If you mean that it wasn't approved specifically for RSD, *nothing* is, we can only take "off-label" drugs because there aren't any "on-label" drugs.

Sorry to be a pain, but I've been wondering about these comments, so I'd really like to see where you got the ideas. In fact, if you have any URLs for sites I'd appreciate that too.

Some drugs can affect gingival health
-December 14, 2004

Certain medications, like Neurontin, could be affecting your dental health. Though gingivitis is often related to poor dental hygiene like not regularly flossing or brushing improperly, the use of Neurontin, as well as some other drugs, can affect gingival health as well. If painful gums affect you, consider what type of drugs and what kind of diet you are following in order to help determine what the cause of the problems are. Dental health includes getting the necessary nutrients into your diet. Left untreated, a gum problem can progress to a more dangerous condition, including periodontitis and infection.

For more information on Neurontin, please contact us.

Neurontin
What is Neurontin?

Neurontin (gabapentin) is a prescription drug used in the treatment of post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) and partial seizures in adults and children. The drug, manufactured by Pfizer, first received FDA approval in 1993 as an "adjunctive therapy" for patients suffering from epilepsy. Since that time, the FDA has also approved Neurontin for use in patients who afflicted with PHN.

Unfortunately , Pfizer illegally and fraudulently marketed the drug for use outside of these conditions (generally referred to as off-label usage) - a move that unnecessarily put many Neurontin users at risk for serious adverse side effects............(theres more posted on the site)

hey

Just about getting used to pain... it's weird that I can now just absorb it... my brain just seems to be so covered in the stuff anyway that you just get used to functioning.... someone I knew actually told me that they didn't realise how much pain I was in until they came into my room when I was on my own.

I have had to find my own way of "hiding" the pain - people my age (21) don't really like people that cry all the time. So I can act like it doesn't hurt (apart from touching - there is a VERY strict rule about that) and then go back to my bedroom and cry...

it is sad - but it's an adaption that HAS to be made in order for me to live even a tiny bit of a normal life and in order to be "treated" like "normal".

Not fair for any of us though....

Oh, and Bronco (I think it was you?) The UK is okish with benefits for disability - but not briliant at all. They have totally screwed me - I have 24 hour care and they've managed to screw me up to a point where I will have to be earning over at least $50,000 a year in order to work... because otherwise i can't afford my care and equipment etc (care alone is over $1000 a week and thats without food, travel or accomodation) (the dollars are guesstimates as I can't be bothered to check the exchange rate).

Love
