This sure is a timely thread LOL! My family and I were having some serious converstations about this topic all this week. We all agreed that it just wasnt 2009 so much as it has been the last decade.
A couple of my sons were saying the 90's were like a dream, everything just went great the entire decade. All of us are in agreement when it comes down to deciding this last decade was the pits, and we know it covered the nation, and even the world in bad times. It is kinda hard for me to get excited about 2010, but I am optimistic, and will keep looking for that good coming year. What I do know is that my butt still has bruises from all the shoe drops the last few years, and I have to really shake this feeling >>> ![]()

It seems our luck declined on 9-11 2001 with the terrorist attacks. I work very close to the Pentagon. Our building shook when the plane crashed. The economy took a dive and hurt my business, it went belly up 4 months ago. My wife fell down and broke her wrist in 2002 and RSD set in. My baby sister died of a brain anorism 2004, my mother passed away just before Christmas. It just seems to come in waves to the point I feel numb about it all. However, I am optimistic that things will get better.

Timely, Ada! I'm so tired of 'itchin about what I've gone through this decade. The disrespect is the worst. Lawyers and the courts. Even though we have an ADA, how I just lost a house I owned for 30 years to a woman I was married to for less than 4, (her name wasn't on it), I don't know. But, my kids saw it coming and split. (yada yada).
I'm crushed, not because of the rsd, tbi, tos, discs, apnea, etc. but because of the lack of respect humanity has for its own. Anyone remember, (I'm 53) when We was in grade school, we got taught about Population Explosion, with 3 billion on the planet. now there's 9, and not a word about it. There are too many people on this earth! Nature will surely handle this. To be so arrogant to think that we (Man) can cause a change to the climate is rather outrageous. We're just need something else to tax. I don't know the answer to starvation, and lack of clean water, but Ma Nature does! Now we get an Earthquake on Haiti, and a guy like Pat Robertson, is nutso enough to call it their own fault! (my wording). Enough for now.... pete Last edited by AintSoBad; 01-14-2010 at 06:38 PM. |

Allen, like you, I always have this gut feeling that something else is going to go wrong. I can't shake it.
Do your son's have good jobs. My kids have good jobs so they don't even notice how hard things are for the rest of the world. My son-in-law does more so then Susan due to being a boss and laying off some of his men but they still think there is so much money out there that they don't need to save. It's that generation thing. Pete, I do hope that things start calming down for you this year. As far as the population explosion, you are right. I believe one of these days there will be a reality check for the world not realizing what's right and wrong in this world today. Mary, it sounds like you are starting off on the right foot this year. I hope that things do continue to be good for you. Let's hope that we all start seeing some calmness in our lives this year.
