Default To My Grandad.

My Hero.

Always to stand beside me. Always to love me. Mine. My Granddaddy. My Hero. My life-line. Mine.
If there is anyone who I could adore; it's him.

Just wanted to pay tribute to him. To honor him. He has made me who I am. I will always be honored. He passed one year ago today.

Awwwe Kim..You are incredible..I am sorry for your loss in your special Granddad... I hope it brings you comfort knowing he is right beside you all of the way...buy a special helium balloon today and say a prayer and message while letting it go up in the air...send it to him...you are in good hands!!

I also was very close to my Grandfather. Him and I lived together while I was engaged to get married, for four years. We were like the odd couple. When I got married he died just a couple of months later in his sleep. I was a kid then and it always struck me that he wanted to see me in good hands before he left. He was born in Italy, came here in the states when he was 2 years old. Both his parents died by the time he was 15. He then joined the Army. He spent 30 years in the Army and many under GS Patton JR. I have several papers written to my Grandfather from Patton in which I framed. His son followed his father in the Army and retired a Major General. My grandmother died in 1953 leaving my grandfather who never replaced her. Both are interned at Arlington National Cemetery. He passed in 1984.

Hi Jim.

He sounds like a wonderful man. It's always a comfort to me to reflect on my childhood with my grandfather, especially when I am low.

I have two uncles buried at Arlington. One was a Major. His son was killed in Vietnam. My grandfather was a Marine, Infantry. WWII. His son is Retired Air Force. Also in Vietnam. My son plans to join the Air Force after graduation and is currently in ROTC.

We are so blessed with wonderful families. We are blessed to have our Men and Women dedicate their lives to protect us.

Thank you for sharing this.

Kim
