I am scared to death and I don't know how to deal it, but I am slowly losing my eyesight...I made light of it when I first joined on here, but now I am beginning to see double and /or seeing ouble when I focus...I have an appt this week so will see what happens. I found on Dr.Hoosmand's site that artificial tears helps....I hope that works

Im so sorry to hear about your vision,,do you think its RSD related?,,,Im sure you have heard about my massive spread to my groin,,,,3 days ago the skin around My right eye started to sting and burn,I thought maybe it was something that I may have gotton in it..But in the last 2 days it has moved to the left eye as well,,most of the burning is on the skin surronding the eyes.but ive had bad pain in the right eyeball itself..God is my hope..I just dont want the rest of my life surronded by dr appt and medicals,,I really hope something happens to change my perdicament and yours and everyone else here...My body must really be screwed up to be spreading so fast,, I wish you well and hope that you get answers that you need,I hope you have some type of insurance or supplimentation,,I havent anything,I applied for SS 3 months ago,,and havent heard anything,,please keep praying people for each other,,please

Hi I am sorry you are facing this. I developed rsd in my legs 3 years and 2.5 years ago I developed an eye condition with severe pain,pressure,and strain/floaters. Anyhow over those 2.5 years I went to I would say 45 eye apts,10 eye specialist,neuro,allergist,etc. They did dx me with dry eye and blepheritis but the pain which was crying pain at times did not match that dx. I have seen many rsd pain docs and many don't feel rsd can be in the eyes but I know peole who do have it in the eyes rsd. I am hoping the treatment of my legs will also help with the eyes like meds and if I do ketamine. Trust me I know how scary this but try to stay in the moment. Also I encourage you to use preservative free eye drops. Long terms use of regular ones can cause issues of themselves or for me for ex my eyes are too sensitive for them. Feel better

I got some re-wetting eye drops today as recommended by Dr Hooshmand in rsd puzzle #130 http://www.rsdrx.com/rsdpuz4.0/puz_130.htm it seems like it is helping today. I have noticed that my periphial vision being worse and I have had a lot of double vision when I focus...we'll see what the doc says this week, but so far the drops are working.

I have also had issues with dry eyes in the last 6-8 months. I've had RSD for 4 years now.

I was told that I could not wear contacts anymore and probably can't ever again. I bought a humidifier that I keep at my desk while I'm at work. That has helped a lot with the dry eyes. The drops do help, but I've found that it only helps for a few minutes. There are also gel drops that you can put in your eyes at night that is a little thicker and lasts longer. You can get them over the counter too...

I have an appt this week to see if I can wear contacts - even for a few days a week... We'll see.
