oh geez i am so sorry to hear that. sounds like she is going through almost the same as me.. its tough really.. but she has been going through it so much longer.. How does she do it i wonder? I do it for my children, they cant see me suffer, i go on so i can be with them. So they dont watch me fall apart, and go crazy with suffering.

Blocks can be used as a diagnostic tool, while potentially giving you major pain relief. At a year since onset your body has not hard wired the RSD yet, so you have a greater chance of going into remission.

Get to the pool yesterday.

See if you can get a trial tens unit.

Ask your doc if he will prescribe Lidocaine cream. It is usually prescribed for shingles. I prefer patches, but they're expensive if insurance won't cover them. The cream is like $12.50 a tube. Use only on your worst days...

Some pain docs are less likely to write scrips for pain meds than a GP since all of the media coverage began regarding drugs like Oxy. So, they'll err on the side of caution before writing a script for someone they're concerned might be exhibiting drug seeking behavior.

i have had blocks. no help.. had tens unit.. helps little to none.. pain dr. wont give me crap neither will gp.. im just being pushed from one dr to another.. thats why i am fed up.hopefully soon i can get into another dr, i will have to drive to see him, but thats ok with me and hubby.. started pt.. it hurts like crazy. this is 3rd round. i love this. do pt. but we wont give you anything for pain.. just deal with it.. its funny how they want you to cope with all the pain and wonder why you are anxious or depressed all the time..then never want to give you anything other than paxil.. it wasnt helping either so i gave up on it..im just doomed to do this alone til i can find another dr who cares, i think.. hope that will be soon. and when i find him. watch out!.lol
