I just glanced through this thread but I have used RELIV. It didn't help me at all. But who knows how it might work for somebody else. But I was not a fan.

I would like to add here, that some of the Reliv products (the energy one I looked up) have FRUCTOSE as a first ingredient.

Here is a link to a medical video from Dr. Lustig MD at UCSF giving a lecture to medical professionals about the new evidence of the harmfulness of Fructose in the diet. The video is long, but very very good. Near the end is the stunning factoid that sugar in baby formula is responsible for obesity in infants!(which they are seeing in the SF endocrinology clinics)

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread116672.html

The second post has 2 blogs by doctors who go further in the
criticism of fructose consumption.

At one time years ago, fructose was encouraged by nutritional experts as less dangerous than sugar for diabetics. This attitude has now changed. The real role of fructose in long term medical disease is now revealed. The makers of Reliv need to attend to this problem, IMO.

So anyone here with insulin resistance, elevated triglycerides, or type II or type I diabetes, or who is overweight already, needs to avoid fructose.
