Just wondering if anybody knows if it is possible for Norco to suppress a fever. I am having severe pain almost 2 weeks after surgery and wondering if I'm crazy to think that the acetaminophen part of Norco could be supressing a fever if I had an internal infection.

The Tylenol content of Norco could help mask the fever symptom of an infection, but usually not completely. How much Tylenol does your dose of Norco have in it ? Do you take it every 4 hours or spaced more ?

Do you have any other syptoms of infection like swelling, increased pain, redness or purulent drainage from the incision ?

The incision is slighty red. I have sever increased pain in my left side. My incision was in my back but the pain wraps around the front of the left side and in my hip. It feels as if the bones are hurtung. My norco has 325 of the tylenol and yes I am taking every four hours on the dot. My face is sunburned so it is hot and I can not find my themometer. I have been feeling good last week and yesterday this dibilitating pain has started. My meds are not controling it I just sit and cry. Every time I am at the ER they act as if your just drug seeking so I just don't go. I don't know how much longer I can hold on as the pain just keeps growing and is stressing me out.

Does your surgeon have an answering service on weekends? If you are only 2 weeks out from your surgery it shouldn't be a problem for you to call if you are in severe pain!! Then if they send you to the ER they can call ahead and your name will be on a list.

Just to be safe I vote that you place a call...

Abrown176 I too am on Norco/325 and when ever I've had a surgery or even a flare up, my temperature always goes up, at first they thought I must have had an infection, but as time goes on they realized it probably was the RSD. I've had this crap since 1986 and I still get a temperature when I flare. I dont think the Norco helps, because they give me tylenol, they even give it to me when I have to go to hospital [yuck] I definatly would call one of you're Dr.,s , Don't let it go any longer. I would DEFINITELY call and CALL your surgeon's office and get seen right AWAY! They need to check this out B4 it goes on another day! If you ARE developing a MRSA infection or something similar they need to get you in ASAP!

I can not believe the ER treats a patient who's just had a surgery this way! Unbelievable!

Did you call the doc ?

The redness near the incision and increased pain at the site/deeper are not good signs. I hope you are seeing your surgeon to have this evaluated.

I went to the ER last night. I just could not take the pain anymore it was like from 1-10 it was a hundred. The ER doc said it was surgical pain and to follow up with my doc. I just woke up and need to call him but there on lunch.
