I have had RSD for years and had it treated with sympathetic blocks. But recently a car wreck thru me back into RSD. I am undergoing the sympathetic blocks again but was wondering if anyone has had symptoms from RSD to include a "ZAPPING" feeling in my head, face and arms. I have fainted and then went thru seizures. I was wondering if anyone with RSD has had these symptoms with RSD.

Welcome Renee,
I'm sorry about these new symptoms. I have that sort of thing, but I have a head injury and TOS, Thoracic Outlet syndrome. Seizures is definitely a brain disorder. The feeling in your face, head and arms could be the same, and/or from Thoracic Outlet. See a GOOD Neurologist and have TOS ruled out, and see about the seizures. Did you bang or hit your head? Did you get 'whiplash"? Just two things that could bring these on. Please get those things checked out. Pete asb |

Pete,
Thank you. I actually have been diagnosed with TOC due to being on the crutches for 6 years. I didn't know that seizures were symptoms of TOC. The Dr's (of course) couldn't figure it out and said it was in my head. Just like they did my pain in my foot. Then I found the right doc and he found the RSD. I will do my research on TOC. THANK YOU!!! ![]() |

I do have severe whiplash that I am dealing with as well as the RSD. But I did not hit my head at all during the wreck.

I don't know that the seizures are a part of TOS/TOC - I haven't read anything about it on our TOS forum.
But the whiplash could have aggravated a few things - have you read anything about Upper Cervical chiropractic? also called c1/c2, atlas/axis - it is different than the usual DC adjustments. www.upcspine.com is a good place to start learning about it. signs/symptoms - http://www.upcspine.com/self.htm

You can also check out Atlas Orthogonal Chiro's too. I had a severe whiplash injury in 1991 from a car wreck & had headaches & neck aches & my upper shoulder & left arm hurt too. Every day 24/7 up until sometime in 1997 when that type of chiro got me to where I went a few hours without headaches & all the rest. Eventually I got to where I could go about once a month for maintenance only. It took a long time as I didn't know about these types of chiro's until late summer 1996.
On their web site I see they even talked on Montel Williams & The Doctors about these types of chiro/s http://www.atlasorthogonality.com/Pa...e/aboutAO.html I now see an Upper Cervical Chiro cause when I moved here in 1999 from Iowa all I could find was this type. My Atlas Orthogonal Chiro in Iowa said if I could not find one these types to look for a NUCCA Chiro. DebbyV |
