fmichael,

would you all like some company? LOL You better keep hush hush about those temps or we'll all be on our way out to your place.. hee hee

It is in the mid 30's here and the windchill makes it even worse so I think I'll pack me a bag and head your way.

Take care and soak up some of that good ole warm, sunshiny weather..

Love,
Janet

Default Hi Janet,

I have been outside today with just a sweater on. The wind is blowing but it's not bad.

I've always loved Co. weather. No humidity in the summer time. The snow in the winter is usually melted as quick as it comes but this winter has been bad.

It's suppose to stay like this until Sunday and then some rain and snow. I hope not as much as we have been getting though.

I told you a long time ago to get that plane ticket and come on up.

Ada

Okay, who has the bus????? We're all on our way to Mike's house!

Curious is bringing the snacks, right????? And the WARM cookies??? I'll bring the hot cocoa!

School is closed for the second day in a row here in Michigan. It's 4 BELOW ZERO here today, with the wind chills at like 20 BELOW or something again. Your nose hairs freeze the minute you go outside. It's UCKY here. I feel especially sorry for the homeless people, and I'm tempted to kidnap the dog next door to me. Jed's owner doesn't have a house for him to stay in or anything, and poor Jed is always laying outside on the stoop with no shelter. I'm ready to go get him. Poor little guy. Well, he's not LITTLE. His "buddy" is a little Jack Russel who scares the crud out of me every day cuz he hides behind the bushes and jumps out at my car when I come down the road and chases me into my driveway - I KNOW he's usually there, and I EXPECT him, but I still jump and my heart beats 1000 mph when I glimpse him out of the corner of my eye and hear him bark. LOL!

And it's KILLING my hands. Horribly.

Bus Drivers & teachers must be whimps there! LOL J/K!! - It's -15 BELOW ZERO here by Superior Wisconsin and a wind chill of who knows how low AND the kids still had school. Guess our skins just a little thicker here in Wisconsin!

Our kids would have school if it were 50 below and we had snow neck deep. They have only been on a two hour delay with these 2 months of snow. The bus drivers were mad about driving in this weather we have had but the school wants that money for each child they have in school. That's the whole point of it.

When I was growing up in Ky. We would get out for 2 weeks at a time due to the roads they were so curvy. Here we have curvy roads to the high school and the buses still run no matter what.

Default I hear ya....

Boy do I hear ya there Ada! LOL

They send these kids to school in any weather. I've said many times the only way they'd stop school is if there was 10 feet of snow and it was 50 below....Your right - It's all about money - You'd think tho that they'd pass something for COLD weather up here in the frozen tundra. I know their allowed snow days but what about the freezing cold - I felt just awful having them walk to the bus stop and wait for the bus and it's only 1 1/2 blocks away!

LOL! Actually from what I heard, it's cuz many of the buses won't start. But...I do think some of the drivers and teachers could be wimps. Never know! Weird thing is, in the "tri county" (three counties next to each other) area, only ONE school is open. Wonder what their deal was?

They didn't want kids waiting for the buses outside in this stuff, when you can get frostbite after only 10 minutes.

Myabe Wisconsin just doesn't care about their kids as much as Michigan does. J/k! LOLOLOL!

LOL! No harm ment either to all those teachers and bus drivers - I know I would not want their jobs - All that jibber/jabber for hours on end - I feel for the rural drivers out here - some of their routes take over 2 hours!!! NOOOOOO way! So much drama too - Yikes!

That is wierd! One school open!?? Guess they really needed the monies...Isnt it sad that they will put childrens life in jeopardy over $$$

I walked Dustin down to the bus stop when he stayed here Friday. Even though they were on a 2 hour delay it was 5 degrees out. I wanted to make sure he got there ok. We almost missed it though.

I just think that it's a shame that they do make our kids wait for a bus or even walk to school in 5 degrees weather. Devin had 2 walk and it was 5 blocks. Susan didn't have her vehicle Friday. What if a kid got hurt on the way to school, they would freeze in that weather?

IT is a money issue. They get so much money for each child they have in school each day. I don't think it should be based on that.

Hi Everyone,
I am so sorry about the weather some of you are dealing with.

It's 79 degrees in Temecula today. I live north of San Diego. Hugs, Roz
