Dear Andrea -

What an amazing interview! It's been a crazy few days for me and I just now (@ 4:45 am) finished listening to it.

What got me right away was the immediacy of it. Your description of our community (including "people in Australia and Canada"), the tape of Lindsay and Dr. Schwartzman (I had seen the broadcast a few years ago but until now didn't make the full connection) and finally your description of the lives of those without resources moved me to tears.

Thank you so much for what you are doing! Your sense of purpose and fortitude is amazing. And then that ethereal moment at the end of the show when you managed to effortless interweave the horror of the illness with its medical strangeness was perfect.

Finally, while I was also captured by Sam's flute at the end, something happened just at the close that may have been transformative for me. I have always been skeptical of people with a New Age persona - to the point of joining my Buddhist teacher in his open doubt of the power of positive intension or "metta" to have any change on the world except as it improves ourselves and how we therefore interact with others - and so found Moriah Fey's style a little off-putting. But then as she closed with a reference to her son - no longer of the Earth - it hit me. Viscerally. This is all about pain and dealing with it, and the genesis is just detail.

Thanks again.

kind regards,
Mike
