Default So tired of vomitting!!!!!

I vomit about 5 days a week. I take lots of nausea meds. On days I dont vomit I am still very nauseous. Went to a GI doc about a year ago & had some tests run. They came to the conclusion that the RSD had spread to my stomach. Anyone else struugle with this?

Hi Firegirl, I am so very sorry for your nausea and diagnosis of stomach RSD. I have full body RSD-15 years now and internal. I don't vomit, but am super sensitive to food smells and changed totally in what appeals to me food wise. Am basically a vegetarian, occassionally will have a couple scallops and on occassion can eat salmon, but most of the time it doesn't appeal to me. I know it's so strange things I used to enjoy, no longer appeal to me. meats, chicken, coffee, wine,. For myself, I like yogurt, fresh fruit and cottage cheese, healthy cereal, fresh veggies, Just can't eat so many things I used to. I was wondering if you are eating foods that don't appeal to you, resulting in vomitting.
Hopefully, some others on the forum will have more input. Welcome to NT
and I'm sure you'll find wonderful comfort and support like I have. One of your new friends, loretta with big hugs

Hi firegirl,

My daughter vomits too...I am sorry because I know how unsettling that can be. I know that you take anti-nausea pills, but my daughter actually takes ginger pills. Can I say that they help, sometimes. Depends on what she eats. Like Loretta, she eats very little. No meat, mostly potatoes, mashed potatoes that I usually cook every night. She eats cereal and milk, peanut butter toast, bananas help. Have you tried drinking gingerale make sure you stir out all of the carbonation. Don't brush your teeth right after eating...try not to hit your gag reflexes when brushing. You need to make sure that you have something in your stomach at all times. Even if it is just a piece of toast. Don't let your stomach empty that way the acids do not have time to upset your stomach, if not toast, saltines are a great way to settle your stomach with gingerale. I know this may not help, but maybe give it a try. I hope you feel better soon.

Sandy

Although it may be difficult to find a lot of information about abdominal RSD, from what I have learned, it is very common. There is some information on the RSDS website about Botox treatments often being an effective treatment.

My daughter has suffered with this for five years. She is now on TPN as placing a feeding tube is not an option at this time. She does have RSD in her stomach, but we recently learned that she has gastroparesis, too. Often times there is more going on than RSD pain, so please, get to a good doctor who will look at everything.

Wishing you all the best!!!

Firegirl, I'm sorry to hear of your RSD spreading internally. I have had severe RSD in my left foot for 4 years now and understand how mind numbing this disease can be. I have three suggestions for you and will pray they work for you so you may feel some relief. 1) The best medicine for the nausea from pain I have found to be Zofran. 2) I don't ever like to answer any of these things with a pharmaceutical answer. That being the case I would discuss in detail with your pain specialist the proper diet to have with your condition. You'll find this will at the very least lessen your nausea. (I am praying) 3) I ended up in the ER 3 weeks ago two nights in a row with pain so bad I seriously wanted them to amputate the foot and I would take my chances with phatom pains. Fortunately, a procedure we'd been researching for two years and begging to get into the trials of, was recommended to us in the ER. It's a Kedamine induced coma. I was placed in a coma for about two days while they introduced the Kedamine to my system as well as performing a rapid detoxification of my system. I never realized that pain medicines can eventually turn against you and cause you even more pain. I won't lie to you. There are side effects such as short term memory loss (I don't remember the entire week before I went into the hospital), some holes in long term memory, vision impairment and some dexterity issues. Most of these are short term and you'll get them back. The only thing hanging over me now is the loss of memory, which is certainly a rather odd feeling. The good news is however controversial this treatment may be, I am currently in remission with about 90% of my pain gone. I am walking for the first time in two years without a cane. I HIGHLY recommend looking into this procedure. It scared the hell out of me, but I am so happy to be without pain for as long as this will last. Take comfort in knowing that this disease is one of the most studied diseases at the moment and many new trials are be conducted all over the States. Doctor Ian Black brought the treatment to Vermont from Texas and I was the third person to ever have it done here. I hope some of this help you and you'll be in our prayers. God Bless.
