I don't really think it's fair of us to judge. While my Dr has stated I I have severe CRPS which I balked at, I still occassionally have times when I can dance like that for a few minutes or more too. As my fiancee told friends months ago, "she can get out there and dance like that but she'll be in bed for days to follow". I think by second guessing Paula Abdul's illness we're doing one of the things we probably most dislike being done to us; having our condition questioned by those who do not understand it. In my opinion, that clip was barely 5 seconds long and as a performer, I'm not at all surprised Paula could pull that out. I also have CRPS in the back of my neck as well as now the entire left side of my body and can say that until it spread, I could still dance that way. Please don't judge others. |

All I asked is what meds she's on as, selfishly, I'd like them too. Okay and I'm snarky for posting this.

I still don't know when exactly RSD began for me but I haven't been without pain on a daily basis for six years when I had my first cervical surgery. Despite that, if I have even an hour where I feel well enough to dance or god forbid, jet ski! I grab it and try to relish every second of it knowing I may not get the chance again. ![]() Dawn |

In talking with my long distance mother-in-law recently she said, 'but you were doing so well, what happened?' Well, when last we spoke on that day, that minute, that second, I was feeling good and upbeat. And if we have consecutive conversations (okay, two) where I'm feeling good, well that must mean that her daughter-in-law has this thing licked! Wanted to tell her that between those snapshots in time I live in a quiet hell and test her son's patience on a daily basis.
I'm planning on sending her a few RSD books as I'm weary of trying to explain this weird thing. |
