Anyone have any ideas for me? The epsom salt baths have helped somewhat, but I was looking for further ideas.
My legs and feet love to swell... that has never really been an issue for me before, with my hands and arms. Thanks. |

Hey
I sleep with mine elevated and try to keep them up during the day. Some people can tolerate the flotron (a device used in lymphodema), also lymph massage helps (but REALLY hurts!). hope that helps abit! Rxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi,
Here's a good site for natural remedies: http://www.mothernature.com/Library/...oks/41/111.cfm This is going to sound daft, but......the other day a local fisherman was sitting by the road with his leg covered in thin rounds of pineapple, and when he shifted some I saw it was really puffy. Next day he was right as rain, so maybe try the greengrocers rather than the pharmacy. Bromelain, pineapple essence, is a stalwart of natural medicine.......so perhaps worth a try? all the best ![]() |

You might want to look into DMSO? My doc said to stay away from it but I bought it anyway... I think it helps a bit but u have to be careful how you use it- because it can carry anything on your skin into your body..Some people sware by it though?

Can you please tell me more about the lymph massage? Can a physical therapist do them? Or just anyone? Thanks... I am not totally sure as to what it is.

Hi In His Hands,
You definiely want a massage therapist that is experienced with lymphatic tissue massge to perform it. I have had a couple done at various spas. Call first and ask if the therapist is expereinced in it. Most PT's will not know hoe to do it. I also know there is a website (I will try to find it) that lists some lymphatic massage therapists that have trained with a certain style. I have also recently been going to my chiro that has some new FDA approved lymphatic tissue machine that has been working pretty well for me. I will try to find out the name. I know there is a home version but it is pricey. And yesterday I asked my pain doc what else I could do for swelling since I am experiencing swelling arouns my TOS surgery site and she recommended something called arnica montana 30C. I posted a thread asking aboout it on the vitamins forum but no one has posted any experiences they might have had. I picked it up at Whole Foods. I hope that helps and you get some relief. ![]() |
