Hey everybody!
I'm currently searching for a good dr/treatment program, in Wisconsin or surrounding area for rsd/crps (Pain management/anesthesiology/neurology). At the moment I'm looking into the Pain management clinic of Froedtert/Medical College of WI (located at their Tosa center), and UW Madison's "Interventional Pain Program". If anyone has any feedback on these programs, I'd really appreciate your comments. Or if anyone knows of any other great doctors or programs in WI or the surrounding area, or any to avoid, for that matter, by all means, please let me know! Thanks so much! ![]() |

Hey there. I was able to create (with no talent at all) a cool Word file showing all of the ABPM certified physicians in Wisconsin, where each name linked to the individual physician's summary page. Unfortunately, it was too big to post here.
So I converted it to a pdf file, but that apparently requires a little more talent than I had on hand, so the links only go as far as the APBM search engine, which may be better than nothing. Hope it’s useful. Mike |

Dr. Steven Donatello MD, he has a clinic that has 2 locations in the general area you are looking, they are in the Milwaukie area. I have a friend that lives up there are he treats both her and her mom for rsd. She went to him when she was first diagnosed and he treated aggressivly and she credits him for keeping her from spreading.

Hey all,
So I've found a doc closer to home, but who also seems to be one of the best in the area- from what I hear from a number of local doctors (none of whom are affiliated with his practice, so they are unbiased). & have an appt for Jan 11th. He's Dr. Thomas Stauss, at Advanced Pain Management. APM is a medical group with offices around WI (he works at a few of them- one just about 20 mins from me). He also teaches pain intervention techniques to UW-Madison residents. His specialties are Anesthesiology, Pain Management, and Pain Medicine. But his reputation is what is most appealing to me. If anyone has any experience with Dr. Stauss, please share them. (I know WI isn't exactly NY or anything, but figured it's worth a shot). Thanks!!! |

You don't have a doctor's name? I will go on the website and look over it and type a name if I contact anyone that is really well aware on the disease.

So just to update those of you inquiring about Dr. Stauss in SE WI area (or from NE IL). I saw him for the first time on Wed, Jan. 11th, and was very pleased. He is very knowledgeable regarding CRPS/RSD, and understands the importance of treating the disease aggressively, with the appropriate medications, procedures, etc. in order to help you achieve the best outcome possible.
He is very kind, (and very smart), and I felt comfortable with him immediately. It was such a relief to finally be seeing a doctor that understands what I'm going through, and how to help. He went out of his way to make sure I would get scheduled for a needed round of sympathetic nerve blocks, fitting me in even though he's book for two weeks+ out typically. So far, I'm very happy with him, and impressed both by his knowledge/credentials, but also his "bedside manner". It's hard to find a doc that has both! I'd definitely recommend him, just be prepared to be flexible- as he has a few different offices he works out of, and is so busy, you may have to travel a bit to see him (nothing too ridiculous though). So far, even with his busy schedule, and the prospect of driving a bit farther to see him sometimes, I still think he's the best fit for me! Also, I've had a few family members ask their doctors about him, and they all came back with glowing reviews! So he's well known, and well respected in the local medical community as well! I'll keep you all posted as my treatments with Dr. Stauss progress. *You can also look him up on the clinic - Advanced Pain Management's website: apmhealth.com Good luck to you all! ![]() |
