A friend had the spinal cord stimulator inserted for CRPS on Thurs and Sunday was in the hospital with uncontrollable abdominal pain. Cat scans and everything done were completely negative finally had some relief after massive doses of narcotics. I know one of the leads was at T12, anyone have any info would be appreciated.

I had this happen, but I was admitted because of the stimulation in my chest wall made it "look" and feel like a heart attack. The pain doctor and the Medtronics Rep re-programmed my unit and got it out of the chest wall area. However, I did have the abdominal pain and sensations after. Check with the doctors and device rep - sounds like migration of the wires. Might be as simple as reprogramming, might have to x-ray to see if wires moved, might be necessary to do a paddle (I have this now due to the migration problems). Really, really research the risks though. Will the benefit out weight the added surgery, the added risk? Good luck, and hopefully it's just a simple reprogramming issue.
