Awesome stuff - I use it on my head in my occipital area all the time. and anywhere else I am having a problem and a patch won't work.There is a stronger version, I forget what it is called. But it is much runnier, less gel-like, than the Voltaren.

I've used the Voltaren Gel (I was given a free sample by my Pain doc that lasted for one week). It did absolutely nothing for me. But that said, at least I didn't have any side effects from it. I think it is worth a try if there is nothing to lose.

My doc doesn't want to give me another epidural because we anticipate the WorkComp will send me to their own doc. So I needed something extra for those lobster red feet at 2 in the morning. Now if they will approve it.

The stronger stuff is called Pennsaid. Both Voltaren and Pennsaid contain diclonefac, which is (I believe) the equivalent of Motrin. A tube of Voltaren is only $30 or so, hopefully WC won't hassle you too much over that kind of money.

My PM doc told me that Pennsaid is usually written for knees.

I love Voltaren for my head pain, I part my hair, which is short, and rub it on all over. i also use it on my forehead and my neck. I tend to use patches elsewhere (and remove them in a warm shower).
