Hello.
I have a few questions about RSD after reading a thread that is on the PN forum here. *Pain & numbness inside of thumb after IV injection * ^^^ I noticed that my experience was similar to that of the poster's. Yesterday, as a needle was inserted into the crease of my left arm, an electric pain shot down my arm and focused into my thumb. The nurse drawing the blood noticed my discomfort and said that I should relax my arm, but I had not tensed my muscles, and had never experienced this kind of pain through many IV and needle insertions. Through all of yesterday my arm ached, and had slight swelling at the site of the needle insertion. My arm was still sore when I woke up this morning, but I noticed that as I stretched and strained the muscles in my arm that the electric pain I felt the previous day had returned. Are these symptoms worthy of a visit to the doctor, or is it too early to tell? I also thought it might be important to mention that I have a herniated spinal disc, and that has recently been bothering me as well. Any information or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, - Sam |
