They want to try another manufacture, I just don't know if I am up for it. The last on I was down for 3 days from pain after the trial implant. My back hurt so bad it was unbelievable.

Keep us informed.

I have a cervical scs, no RSD spread but when I'm on my feet alot my back hurts from where the battery is placed across. I did have to have 2 vaccines last month. The nurse gave them both in my good arm. Within 2 days I was having a reaction/infection. Antibiotics cleared most of it up but I have still a small red area around the injection spot and it burns, like a needle is just sitting there. I hope it's not the beginning of spread.

I hope the Dr's can do something for you. My scs has changed my life, I can't imagine going through what you are. Sorry

I had a 7-day trial (with St Jude Medical) and since my RSD is on both sides of my body, they did the trial on one side. I have to say at first I didn't like the idea, but then it was really a great idea because I could really compare the pain with and without. The trial was great, obviously, which is why I went for the permanent.

I was losing use of my hands and the cervical SCS has helped cut down my pain so I can use my hands and work with less agony. My pain is not gone, but it is much better. The thoracic SCS is the one I am having issues with. I still get some stimulation from it, so there is mild relief, but not what I really need. When I turn it up, the pressure starts and then I got the new pain developing down my right leg.

The Dr emailed me back and wants to see me, seeing him this afternoon...will update you later.

All the best to you...

Default partial update...

Well, I went to the dr and he thinks that this new pain down my right leg is muscular. He wants me to get an x-ray of my hip/pelvic area, but it was too late to get it when my appt was over so I will get it Monday morning. I go back to see him next Friday. He told me to try heat to see if it would help any since I cannot tolerate any anti-inflammatories.

He didn't think it was sciatica pain because it didn't go below my knee. I know I hurt like crazy after my examination

So, hopefully I will have a better idea of what is going on next week.

Thanks...Nanc

Default Update...Saw the dr again yesterday...

So I had my visit yesterday with my dr and St Jude. The dr addressed the pressure in the left side of my back, that is increased by the SCS, and the new pain I am having on the right side and down my leg. The pelvic x-ray didn't show anything. He is going to try a medial branch block on the right side and radiofrequency ablation on the left side. He thinks the radiofrequency ablation would help me be able to use the SCS, the the extent I should be. First treatment is Jan 3.

The St Jude rep gave me some different programs on a completely different frequency that doesn't seem to increase the pressure, we will see how that does.

PM and family docs both want me to see the neurologist about the increased migraines.

So, the cherry on top is that I broke my pinky toe a couple days ago and that feels delightful!! It is on my right foot, same side of the new leg pain - ugh! Makes Christmas shopping just a little more difficult....

Nanc, I suffered from migraines since my 20's. Took Midrin at that time (onset). Eventually suffered rebound and made migraines even worse.

In my 40's the Neurologist I saw put me on a preventative schedule - Inderal and Elavil. It helped somewhat; but when (what I call the miracle med) Imitrex came on the market - unbelievable relief. When I feel a migraine coming on, I take an Imitrex; rarely do I need a 2nd. You do have to be careful not to go into rebound from too many. Since I started using Imitrex;my migraines are all but gone within an hour.

Not sure you have tried Imitrex; but if you have not, maybe your doctor could give you a prescription for it. (I get a script for 50mg's and cut in half which amounts to my taking about 25mg. The cost is the same for the 25mg's and the 50mg's.

Sorry about your "pinky". The last thing you needed is to add one more thing. Not much time left before Christmas; but ordering on the internet really is a great help. Enough pain without shopping in the malls.

Hey there...I have had migraines since a kid. Take Topamax daily and it has reduced them greatly! I have a baseline headache daily, but when it gets bad I take Fiorinal, when it is headed toward migraine I take Amerge (which is GREAT). I have tried every form of Imitrex and it did nothing for me. Had a terrible reaction from the Imitrex shots.

The migraines have increased for some reason since I got the last SCS paddle leads put in.

I used the internet as much as I could this Christmas But we had to go out today to pick up stuff locally, boy was that tough...
