Default Video on Paula Abdul

There is a video on Youtube called Paula's pain. It's got Paula talking about her injuries and what she has been through. She never mentions RSD in it but the spokesperson does. I don't think I have ever heard Paula herself say she has RSD.I tried to put the video on here but couldn't. It was put on my facebook today and that's how I came across it. Thought you all might like to see it.

Hi Ada,

I have actually seen an interview with her that she admits to having RSD in her spine from a car accident.

If you right click on the link it will say "copy link address" and then paste it here. That will post it.

Thanks, Sandy

On Paula Abdul's biography it states that she has CRPS and has had it for along time. I just wonder what she does for treating her disease because I've seen her bust out some crazy dance moves and I know her case effects her legs... I wish she would bring more awareness to the public about this disease but I've seen her try and the press had a field day calling her a drug addict (that happened around the beginning of her being on American Idol). Thank you for posting the video and I hope you are having a good Thursday.

Default Hi,

I did that right click thing but today has been a rough day for me so that isn't working out either. Usually I can do it.

I think Paula has painted such a bad picture of herself by how she has acted over the years wheather due to the RSD or too many meds that it's hard for people to take her seriously.

I wish she had embraced the fact that she had the RSD and went with it in a different direction such as being a spokes woman for it back in the 90's when she was diagnosed with it. As famous as she is, it might have worked back then.

I think too that it's hard for people to grasp the extreme of RSD if they don't have it.

She explained it good in the video that was made by someone else but if you watch she doesn't finish some of her sentences so it kind of leaves a person hanging. She doesn't talk about treatments nor name the meds she's tried or is still on. She leaves people wondering what is going on with her.

I believe in the People article that she did years ago when the rumor started about her pain, she said that she takes embrel, which is used for RA

Default Hi Andrea,

Are you thinking she has RA and not RSD?

Whatever she has, she can't sit on the fence.
If you want to be a spokesperson for say, rsd. She can't be doing her dance moves, no matter how bad they hurt her afterwards, the public just can't understand, or even begin to grasp that.
I can do 'some things', and then lay in bed for two/three days.
Then, my people are baffled, by thinking, hell, they saw me do it, now why am I complaining, or not answering the phone?
Am I on a bender or something?
(My sleep issues cause me to 'Sleep-write', and therefore I can look a bit twisted, I'm sure lots of you here can recall me doing that.)

If you're going to be a spokesperson, you can still do the other, just be 100% forthcoming about the illness, and it's effects.
IMHO.

Im glad you brought this up. I have been thinking about her for a while.
She must have an amazing support system to keep her pain hidden for so long.

Maybe she doesnt know about us? Maybe if she knew, she would become our much needed pokes person? OR maybe she doesnt have the energy for one more job in her life. We know what hell we live in with this disease daily. Look at all we have lost, jobs, friends, homes, family members. If she came out, she could lose all that we have too over time. Maybe people in her business wouldnt call her for work?
I thought about if we each wrote her a letter....would she listen....would she help?

http://paulaabdul.com/register heres her website... after you do the short registration form you can immediately post a note to her.
anyone interested? I am going to.
Lori
