Default ketamine and insurance

Do they ever cover this under insurance? my doctor says this is the next step after a tunnel epidural infusion. (if we dont have much success). the last thing is a spinal cord stimulator.

There is an excellent posting about this on this site- http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...mine+insurance

I am headed to a crps specialist this week and hope to bring a similar letter to DeesRSD's letter to the specialist in hopes that they can get pre-approval for me to have this treatment. I've already checked with my insurance carrier and they've told me ketamine is not covered but I can appeal. So thanks to DeesRSD for helping to get a "cold foot" up on the process.

Hmm...I don't know. It was just filed by the doc and covered. But...if you go to FB and join the Ketamine Klub for CRPS/RSD Patients you will find a slew of info...documents for insurance companies, billing codes, letters to appeal. It is truly the best source of info for those curious about ketamine. There are many members there that use it and will tell you about their experiences. In all my time dealing with RSD, it has been singlehandedly the best resource.

Could you offer any suggestions as to how to get accepted into the Ketamine Klub? I've requested and someone asked me why I was interested. I explained my interest, my condition and my hopes to get ketamine treatments.

I haven't heard from anyone since and that's been a couple of weeks. I saw a specialist today who told me insurance does not cover ketamine. I handed him my info compiled from this site and others but I'd really, really like to be able to access the Ketamine Klub.

I believe there are 2 groups one maybe inactive. Try again. Something must have happened.

Yes, one is inactive and one is active. RedDawn on here can help you as she is an adminstrator. If you can send me a PM I will forward your information to her.
What they told me when I asked about that is that they want to be able to see your page to know you are a legitimate patient and not a spammer or someone who is seeking recreational drugs. People are on there to share stories of pain and what is helping them. Keep trying and send me the message to forward.

My apologies if something happened when you tried to join. It may have been the old group which none of us check anymore. We just recently switched to a private group because a lot of members were uncomfortable with other members seeing their medicals information on Facebook. If you could please message me first on here and let me know you'll be applying to the group, it will make the process easier.

Please make sure you apply to the Ketamine Klub for Crps/Rsd Patients. Our old group has slightly different wording. Just look for the one that has the lightbulb. . Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
Dawn
